i wan't to know what are the best film's of the decade we're in now (2010-

i've spent the last few year's watching film's from the past, so i know nothing about modern film's, i think the only film i have seen is social network (which i thought was a great film) so what are the best? i don't wan't film's that are just good, i wan't to know what are the film's that will go down as classic's in year's to come(if there are any)

i've heard of film's like the artist, hugo, warhorse and king's speach because of watching the oscar's, but never seen any of them.

so what are the great's?

thank you:spin:

Django Unchained(2012) ;)
this look's like it's got some potential, i don't mind a good western, plus it's a director i admire and waltz who was superb in inglorious basterds.
this should be released early next year right?

This year, Christmas day. Have to love the ***** on Tarantino for that one.

Why do a strategic weekend release on a non-holiday when you *know* your movie will do well no matter what?

Edit: But I suppose if you saw it in 2010, it counts. ;) Who cares, right?

Personal fav is Melancholia. No one else seems to like it, but it really grabbed me with the music, scenery, and underlying family storyline. Two sisters taking care of each other, in their own way, with undertones of judgment and jealousy. Profound, beautiful, disturbing, and oddly energizing. An acquired taste for sure, which is why the offsets like Attack the Block, Source Code, and Bridesmaids are necessary. All watched and very much enjoyed. ;)

i was wondering when someone would say that, i tried watching that about a year ago, i got 15 minute's into it and i was getting lost and turned it off (i probably wasn't in the right mood for it), every one seem's to love this film so i should give it a go really.

i think the list highlights how dreadful a decade its been for quality movie making compared to the previous ones....simply awful scripts and even worse over reliance on cgi and over editing....I thought avator was the worst oscar winner ever.

ok despite this Id say spiderman trilogy was fantastic as was christian bales batman movies, all tremendous as was lord of the rings first movie was great....didnt go for harry potter mania at all though

cant recall all the exact years but the departed was a great movie, tropic thunder absolutely hilarious, as was anchorman, silver linings playbook is worth a look too.....more to follow

Didn't like The Artist at all, just found it really boring and very "Oscars"-ish in a self-congratulatory sense.

My favourites so far from the decade're probably:

We Need to Talk About Kevin (personal favourite so far)
Tyrannosaur
Drive
Toy Story 3
Beginners
Midnight in Paris
The Kids Are All Right
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
The Help
The Social Network
Easy A
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Inception
Black Swan
Avengers Assemble
Red
The Cabin in the Woods
God Bless America
Super 8
Hanna
Bridesmaids
The Hunger Games

they're all the ones I've given 8 or more stars to on IMDb.

I loved some of the movies mentioned, especially Melancholia  here are others I thought were great, and the first was released on late 2009, but I think that was for film festivals, it's main release was 2010

Cracks
Take Shelter
Winter's Bone
Rust and Bone
Martha Marcy May Marlene
Another Earth
Beasts of the Southern Wilds
The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Also a lot of these films are rather slow moving and pretty dark, so may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Winter's Bone is about as dreary as it gets, with an incredible landscape...of even more dreariness with a well-acted cast, working off an incredibly low budget. It's a slow-burn type of movie, and it screams indie. Try 20 minutes and see if you can't stop watching. Take Shelter felt of much greater production value, IMHO, although it wasn't considered expensive. A nice twist ending as well. I'd watch Winter first and Take Shelter second for the contrast in visual imagery. Enjoy them both!

if you like twist ending's, one of the best is a film called shattered, it's a film from the early 90s starring tom berringer, gretta scacchi, bob hoskins and joanne whalley kilmer, it's not a very well known film but it's intriguing, don't be put off by some critic's calling the twist silly, (and even if it is silly it's still a brilliant twist) (one of the best)

i've only seen this film once myself, and that was about 15 to 20 year's ago, but it's a film that stick's in the mind to this day, mainly because of the twist.
i strongly recommend it.
