I eat meat. I'd like to have the patience to be vegetarian but burgers and chicken and a whole host of other meat related dishes are too delicious for me to give up.

I eat meat, but would love to not be able too.. as i don't like animals being killed
so none of these poll options suit me :l
I admit to eating fish, although very rarely, but not other meats at all. So I am a Pescetarian I suppose, but the option for that isn't there, so didn't click anything in the poll.

Heifer whines could be human cries
closer comes the screaming knife
this beautiful creature must die
this beautiful creature must die
a death for no reason
and death for no reason is MURDER
and the flesh you so fancifully fry
is not succulent, tasty or nice
it is death for no reason
and death for no reason is MURDER
and the calf that you carve with a smile
is MURDER
and the turkey you festively slice
is MURDER
do you know how animals die?
No I am not a veggie, love couldn't live without bacon sandwiches, perfect hangover cure

I do eat meat but only buy meat I can be fairly sure has been ethically reared and killed. There wasn't an option for that.
...well, I don't eat meat..but I don't consider myself a vegetarian....

Vegan, but I donīt think using certain animal products is just as bad as eating meat. For example, if you ethically raised your own chickens, I would have no problem with you eating the eggs. But the overwhelming majority of animal products are derived from cruel practices which are responsible for just as much suffering and death as meat. Veganism, at least for me, means limiting cruelty as much as possible, not irrationally abstaining from animal products that havenīt caused any harm.

Why do people say it's cruel to eat animals but dismiss animals eating eachother as nature? Sorry to burst your bubble but nature did not intend for us to be a primarily plant eating species. Why should humans take up the responsibility to look elsewhere for protein & iron? Stop trying to argue with nature :nono:

Animals don't have the same mind as we do, they can't make a decision to eat meat or not like we can. Anyways people always think vegetarians want everyone else to be vegetarians, we don't care as long as no one makes us eat meat.

Then why do vegetarians/vegans say animals have feelings like humans
Well they do have minds, like humans have minds, just not the mind exactly like a human. It's all just pragmatics.

Animals are sentient as we are, they feel pain, which is enough for me

I eat meat - as long as the animals whilst alive are looked after carefully and killed in a humane way then eating meat is acceptable for me.

I do always think the 'humane killing' thing is utter nonsense, there's no such thing as humanely killing a living thing.

Everything in my head logically points towards meat-eating as barbaric and unnecessary and yet I still do it. It might be out of spite towards zealous vegans who scream and whinge about sheep having feelings or whatever. It's mostly because bacon and chicken taste delicious. I'm quite content being immoral in that respect. Pigs and cattle wouldn't be bred anyway if it weren't for their meat and dairy value.

Well yes, in a monkey eat pig world it is barbaric.
If most had to kill to eat meat there would be a steep incline in vegetarians in the UK.
There are other ways of getting protein...
If there was not so much land given over to breeding for the----- likes of maccy d's.... It's quite obscene.
