I thought that, apart from the 3 critic choice picks, they were the only name I recognised.
A*M*E's City Lights is a fun track, I've liked it for a while, the guy who produced it did All Fired Up by the Saturdays too.
Mutya Keisha Siobhan > all, though.

On the BBC article it says that is who they are comparing her to, couldn't see much of her stuff on youtube though, so hopefully they will do a background on them all in the next week or so with some more of her stuff =).

based off those vids... King Krule, Haim, Angel Haze, Tom Odell, Laura Mvula and AME  [already love The Weeknd so ignoring him from this :p]
I like Churches' sound but are they supposed to be that boring in the live video? The crowd's practically comatose. They're also not terribly original. AlunaGeorge bore me. Kodaline's song is pretty but unremarkable. Little Green Cars song is okay. Palma Violets are your typical band the NME will go mental over for about 6 months and then, when the album is released and inevitably just average, be uncool before you can say "oh Rihanna has a new album out".

Okay I'm listening now, in order.
Going to update this post with my opinions on each one.
AlunaGeorge: I didn't like Analyser at all, had to stop listening after 1 minute. You Know You Like It is a jam though  Will be playing it a lot. Their other song is good too. I'm going to listen out for them.
A*M*E: I think I'll like her, but Play The Game Boy is more annoying than catchy on first listen. Sounds like a grower though.
Angel Haze: Amazing, bought her EP the other day after Scott told me about her. Hope she does well.
Arlissa: I love her voice, might be my favourite so far.
Chvrches: Nice enough. Tiny bit dull.
Haim: Really boring. The EP ended and I hadn't even realised I'd been listening to them.
King Krule: The re-master of Angel Haze's song was good, didn't realise it was him. I like the sound of his stuff too.
Kodaline: Really nice song but it sounds like 829328 other things and I will never listen to it again ever, felt like 20 minutes.

AlunaGeorge
Boring but I do like "Analyser" after finding it highly annoying on first listen.
A*M*E
"Play the Game Boy" has a catchy chorus, bit of a jam in a club, however dont think Id have much interest in an album though.
Angel Haze
Great rapper! "New York" has a crazy cool beat, a def favourite.
Arlissa
zzz
Chvrches
Love their electro sound!! Gonna be downloading some of their stuff for sure.
Haim
Known these for a while, their music is nice.
King Krule
Dont understand the hype actually. Quite dull and long-winded.
Kodaline
"All I Want" is lovely.
Laura Mvula
I was prepared to not like this one for some reason. I think because I compared her as an 'Emeli'. Shes got an interesting style. Im intrigued.
Little Green Cars
I think theyll grow on people the more they get heard.
Palma Violets
Ok.
Peace
Like them a lot, "Ocean's Eye" got me hooked.
Savages
Bit annoying.
The Weeknd
Overrated? Thats what comes to mind anyway. Music sounds alright but thats about it. [Ellie's version of High For This >>>]
Tom Odell
Hopefully a successful male soloist, enjoyed listening to him. Interesting tone to his voice.
Best: Chvrches, Peace, Angel Haze, Tom Odell, Laura Mvula
Worst: Arlissa, Savages, King Krule

5. CHVRCHES
A hard vein of electro runs through this band's sweet and yearning synth-pop.
Based in Glasgow
Iain Cook, Lauren Mayberry and Martin Doherty are CHVRCHES - all caps a must. If the Glasgow trio's moniker isn't the most conveniently pronounceable name of recent tipster times, that's just another reason to let their music do the talking.
They've experience in their ranks - Doherty toured the world with The Twilight Sad, and Cook was formerly a member of Aereogramme. Both acts attracted admirable fanbases; but fans should expect something entirely new when approaching the music of CHVRCHES, more likely to channel Prince than post-rock pyrotechnics.
This is electro-pop that shimmers only when the tears are washed from its speaker cones. Debut single The Mother We Share rightly caused something of a stir with its accessible yet ambitious synth angles, positioned somewhere between Robyn and The Knife. Undeniably sad but also euphoric, it's a captivating calling card that sets them apart in 2013.

Great stuff, they were one of my top 5 <3

4. Laura Mvula
Impeccably arranged and beatifully sung, Mvula's storytelling impresses.
Based in Birmingham
Age 26
Neither the domestic nor international music scenes are desperately crying out for more female solo artists; it's a tremendously crowded market. But in Laura Mvula there's talent to suggest that the adage of room for one more may ring true.
I'm the geeky kid of RnB
Mvula
As a priority act for her label, RCA, in 2013, Birmingham singer Mvula is being groomed for greatness - and her She EP of November 2012 made waves sizeable enough for many a critic to not only take notice, but instantly mark her as a tip for the next 12 months.
"Like hearing Billie Holiday with The Beach Boys," is how Guardian and BBC Music writer Paul Lester summarised her sound. Strong praise - but Mvula's not letting it go to her head. "I'm the geeky kid of RnB," she told The Observer, feet grounded. Yet in her songs are whispers of Winehouse-style magic. She just might put a spell on you…
Wasn't a huge fan of Laura, but she's got a nice sound.
Hopefully Little Green Cars are in the top 3, but they seem to be fodder to fill up the top 15.
