Personally it has to be 2007, mainly for

the best album of the last 5 years.
but also Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, 50 Cent, Beyonce etc :worship: though I'm ashamed to say I used to also like N Dubz, Soulja Boy, Pretty Ricky & Akon :bored:

Just don't think much happened... beyond a few mainstream releases. The only two albums from that year I can think of that I really loved were M.I.A.'s and Amy Winehouse's.
Arcade Fire's was meh, Radiohead were okay, so were LCD Soundsystem... but the charts were dominated by Timbaland stuff and I just didn't enjoy it.

Yeah it definitely was Timbaland's year but I liked his stuff. He produced Sell Me Candy too :amazed:

I don't remember anything from 2007 :conf2: Except Umbrella being #1 for about 52 weeks. It was always going to be bad next to the perfect year of music that was 2006 but I genuinely can't think of what music I listened to in 2007 :joker: Oh wait it had Robyn going to #1 as well as Grace Kelly and Beautiful Liar, so it wasn't that bad. Not many songs stuck though.
2008 was better despite the "massive" songs all being a bit **** (Basshunter, Madonna, Ting Tings etc.) but this was the year of Just Dance, When I Grow Up, So What and Disturbia  Also it had Rockstar, the only Nickelback song anyone likes/cares about.
2009 at the time I loved basically all of it but looking back it was very polluted with chav crap. But "I Gotta Feeling" is the first song that springs to mind from this year.
2010 had Ke$ha and I loved the majority of the massive singles. It's a shame Bruno Mars appeared out of nowhere though. Also, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj's albums >>>> (but I didn't actually get into either of them until 2011 LOL)
2011 was the first year I started listening to more irrelevant people but I thought overall it was a pretty good year for music.
2012 had fun. so it was terrible

2010 = Janelle Monae, Kanye, Arcade Fire, Robyn, MIA, John Grant and Goldfrapp tbh. And Kate Nash's Do Wah Doo. (that sounds like a euphemism but oh well)

I didn't get into Body Talk until this year  I ignored all of it except Dancing On My Own cos I didn't bother with albums back then
I did love Janelle though, I played her all year long

Call Your Girlfriend + Hang With Me
DOMO is obviously the best *cryingdisco* song ever though.
I think 2013 will be another 2011 in terms of big names releasing albums as well as new comers like Azealia Banks

Best - 2009, 2007
Good - 2010
Average - 2008
Crap - 2012
2011's on the verge between average and crap.
