I only got one yesterday, as my family Christmas is in January - an oven glove from my parents.

It was like being 7 all over again, opening my present to find that bad boy.

Still waiting on my "best" presents, but so far, as unexciting as it sounds, money.

my unhappiness and depression

..I think you could help with that yourself though Charlie..I remember when you seemed to enjoy this forum and a lot of people enjoyed having you around as well...but you often speak to people on here with an unfounded contempt...maybe not everyone here has as many materialistic/designer things as you do..but as you know, those things don't bring any lasting happiness....neither does being obsessive about food/weight..as no extreme is healthy..not even a 'healthy' one...the healthiest lifestyle is balanced..and from what I've seen there are a lot of people on here who have a balanced lifestyle...it also makes you happier to have balance as well..to focus too much on one thing is never a good thing in relation to anything...

..if you allowed yourself to enjoy this forum, then you would find that you had friends and it wouldn't solve anything, but it would help..friends are always a comfort through bad times...and no one ever has enough friends Charlie...even with lots of real life friends..online ones are an added bonus...'meeting' people you would never come across in real life...we're not 'sad losers'..we're very clever people to realise that....

..I don't think you would keep posting if you thought we were that bad though...so while you're here, why not try to enjoy the people on here as well....

..it's ok to feel unhappy, a lot of people are unhappy with certain things that are beyond their control..but it isn't ok to take that unhappiness out on other people..people's lives are complicated enough, without being made to feel their less than or treated with contempt...

To be fair to charlie there's not just him who is guilty of making people feel like that ammi.
To me I saw that statement as an admission, he tries to control with diet and exercise, with material things and an aloof manner however he remains a sad lonely child.
I feel a lot of compassion for charlie, for all his education, he doesn't express himself very well.

..believe me Kizzy, I have compassion for Charlie and I think he knows that ..I also think he expresses himself very well indeed...it couldn’t be clearer. Whether it’s meant or not, it doesn’t detract from the disrespect shown for people who aren’t responsible for how he feels....

..I don’t think I expressed myself very well though because I quoted Charlie in my post..but it was more to do with the lack of response to Charlie’s post...which I completely understand but feel quite sad about. I don’t feel that there are many people who wouldn’t have got some replies to a post like that because most of the people on this forum have compassion and are very caring..I’ve seen lots of compassion shown..only for it to be turned back on them..so it makes me sad that someone could make a post like that..and not get a response..but I can’t lay blame with any members for that...as I also understand exactly how they feel....

Where I understand your sentiment ammi I don't see it as disrespect, the strange statements he makes are designed to provoke a reaction.
Many people do this all the time, it's how we choose to respond to them that determines whether they get what they want or not.
The lack of response to his last post may be a quiet acknowledgement by some, and a refusal to be drawn in by others?
