Bit snobbish/daft question, but do you feel like you can't really really get into them because they were recommended or do you stan them anyway?

Quite annoying when I recommend people bands and then they stan them like they discovered them/they're their number 1 fan

But no if someone recommends someone to me usually I love them, don't really care if they were *recommended* or not just listen to them as if I had discovered them myself

Occasionally I have that attached to it but mainly I forgot and just enjoy.

Thinking about it, most of my current favourites in music (outside of mainstream pop I mean) were recommendations from someone/something and I love them.

I always try to give credit to people when I really like something, Samuel with KL and Shaun with Japandroids

I'm usually the one recommending to my friends. Kendrick is probably the only person who I was recommended and ended up liking and listening to frequently anyway(eventually after Samuel's thread and stanning ). Usually people tell me about new tracks from people I already know though. I don't find it any different. I like the track if I like it

In fact I only really got into hip hop full on because of Roy and Samuel

never really cared too much. I just try to spread the Gospel of Flawless taste tbh.

Pretty much all the music I've liked is just stuff I've jumped onto the bandwagon for so this doesn't really apply to me

It can be quite annoying when someone goes ''have you heard this?'' to a band you recommended to them months before

It is a bit annoying when you discover new young talent like Nina Nesbitt and mention her briefly in a conversation then have her stolen away and not be given any credit

Not really bothered by it. An example I guess was Niall told me he got into Bjork through a recommendation or post of mine, and I'm not annoyed or anything, or feel like my thunder's been stolen. Music is communal

I hate when I recommend people & then people listen to them all the time, It's like I'm a bigger fan thanks
Also this goes the same in anything really *cough* apple202 *cough*

Guess it's not such a big deal with big artists as they're easily well known anyway

and every band is recommended by someone else/liked by someone before you anyway so yeah, just annoying when people are ignorant

I told my friend about Lana Del Ray & gave him my album, and now he plays it all the time & I don't know why, but it really annoys me

The more I think about it I've picked up a great deal of music from TiBB members, (sooty, Nate, Shaun, Dezzy, Samuel, Marc, BB_Eye off the top of my head) and if any of you don't want others listening to your music then you shouldn't be posting in the first place :idc:

Well I usually listen to suggestions from people on here and wind up really liking them, or at least enjoying the odd few songs.

When people in real life recommend me stuff though, I tend to just not bother mainly because I forget. It's easier to pester someone into listening to stuff online, so.

Most of the time though everyone tells me to listen to an album/band/artist when I'm already stanning something else then about 4 months later I wind up loving the album/band/artist when everyone else has gotten over it oops.

Most of my Music taste has been from recommendations, although I did get my Mother into Flo Rida's Club Can't Handle Me.

I listen to a great deal of music but am always open to hearing what others like too, often people mention a singer or group to me that I haven't taken much, or even any, notice of and I find I like their music too so end up listening to and buying it.

Even on here,a fair while ago, Stacey it was, mentioned and recommended Taylor Swift to me, even suggesting albums to listen to. I did and found I liked her and now buy her work myself too.
