Having only joined in the middle of "on-season" and so not knowing anyone I have enjoyed ""off-season" with getting to know the die hard TiBBers a little better.

...I think a lot of us joined 'on season' because of our love of BB..I found it quite daunting to move onto the main forum....

I found it very daunting too Ammi, I spent most of the time deleting what I was going to post before posting and then checking back every 2 minutes to make sure no-one questioned what I had posted or took offence

It is only a forum.
If you are bothered what people think of you on here then real life will be a massive shock to the system.

I am quite aware what real life is like thanks, I am no kid.....I happen to care what people think of me and feel this kind of media is very easy to misunderstand context of posts etc...if wanting people to "get" the real me is a bad thing then hey ho....

..yeah, I was a bit like that as well Annie...grammar and spelling seemed important as well, whereas now I'm dreadful...this was the first forum I joined so I wasn't familiar with 'forum life' at all...it took me a long time to chat to people...
..I would say that you have 'fitted in' beautifully though, so i hope you don't still find it daunting...

Off season, and I have never and will never try to 'fit in'.
There's a nice mix on here, it's a nice forum on the whole.

Off season, as you can get on and post without it taking 3 hours.
On season, always nice and busy and it's quite good having a greater number and variety of members, depends how much I get into the BB series that's on at the time though

I hate on season. That's mainly because I've stopped watching Big Brother, so the insane amount of threads about it that start clogging up new posts really gets on my nerves.

On season, off season is deserted. Some good members came from the last on season, so hopefully some more come this time
I like both, off season is nice, but it drags on sometimes, especially from sep-jan

And it takes so long to comment, that in episode discussion you end up seeing things written about events that happened 10 mins ago. It's horrible.
Although I don't watch that much BB anymore.

Same here. I have gone from one extreme to the other, from ardent fan to couldn't give much of a hoot now. Prefer reading the forums, they are much more fun and far wittier than any BB contestants I remember, and the by shows.
First time I've ever seen more people say they prefer on season
Personally prefer on-season as well myself due to how active it is and you don't end up with it going dead at times like during off-season, although like MTVN said it depends on how much I've gotten into the series, if I hate the series I usually just want on-season to hurry up and go away

Both for me, on season is hectic but all that goes on is great fun even though it's hard to keep up with everything.
Off season makes for more time for discussion and chatting more to those you wish to.

Off season>>>
The only good thing about on season is that it brings a few decent new members that stick around after a series has ended.
I don't watch BB "live" I record it and watch it the day after.

It's only really been dead the past fortnight and that's because everyone's home for the holidays and not really bothered about taking part in forum discussion. Prior to that it was really active, and loads of games were going on.
I'm bored of seeing the same members support the same types of housemates, and the same arguments. The members that come back for on-season are usually the worst, too. Off-season >

Aaron had like about 60% of the whole forums support out of 15 housemates, Michael Madsen was very popular too

Oh **** yeah, soz forgot 'siding' with a mod made me an arse-licker, shoo you fool.
An opinion that insulted members 'bub xo.'
How the **** was it insulting?
.I think BB has changed a lot..it isn’t about putting different personalities together, who wouldn’t normally cross paths in the outside world and seeing how they interact with each other..setting tasks to gain them food for each other and watching how they work as teams....it’s about clshing people together..choosing characters they hope will cause conflict, giving them lots of alcohol and then seeing it all kick off...hoping it’ll make headlines whip forums into a frenzy...and because of that, I’ve noticed that the forums get a fair share of people joining who aren’t particularly interested in making any comment about the housemates, but just attack fans for the views and who they support...the last few seasons I’ve struggled to keep any interest in BB...either the celebrity one or the regular one...it’s ok for me because I can just opt out and not bother with it.....I’m glad I’m not a Mod, because they can’t...they must get fed up with it as well sometimes, but they still have to moderate the forums..with the huge amount of posters the season brings in...they do a good job and do the best they can, with very little thanks...and are quite often insulted and attacked themselves for their decisions....
..I’m grateful for the Mods...they’re a huge part of making this forum somewhere we all like to log onto...they do a good job...and a thankless job, which I would never want to do, every one of them has a strength and they make a great team...who needs the hassle they get sometimes......and there aren't many of us that could do a better job of it either.....

Oh dear, calm the language down - No need to get so irate about things not even involving you x
Him claiming that potentially me and '80% of the forum' only liking contestants because there female is quite insulting - I can like contestants for my own reasons thanks :)

You're hilarious
...I think the main point was that around 80% of the forum enjoy the constant fighting and bitching of what BB seems to be about now..I think that's probably quite a fair comment..not everyone, including me likes that type of show...and as a Mod, it must make the job of moderating much harder because it has to be said that quite often that arguing and bitching spills over into some of the season members on the forum as well....

Off season because on season makes me too annoyed. Pathetic, yes but some of the things people post on here are too much.
Also I'm guilty of supporting the "vile sassy" housemates but I tend to support what I personally view as entertainment over the "morally good" housemates.
...In my opinion this thread is a perfect example of what BB is now...instead of voicing opinions on housemates, members get attacked for having those opinions...which is the whole reason I don't find much pleasure in BB anymore...on the subject of female housemates, I personally found the last BB seriously silly...Deanna was an ok housemate..I didn't find her to be anything special...and certainly not the 'goddess' she seemed to be hailed to be...but that's ok, because everyone's flawed..it doesn't make them a bad person..and she certainly wasn't bad either...but what I found really, really irritating was that if ever I or anyone else commented on any of her flaws, we were immediately personally attacked for having those views..rather than her fans disagreeing with those opinions and countering them....
...anyway, that sort of thing must be a nightmare for anyone moderating a forum because that forum wants to keep the flow of BB and the fans opinions...yet the moderators have to constantly deal with these personal attacks..and then find themselves attacked as well for making a moderating decision....Nathan's observations were quite valid here..and he didn't deserve some of the responses he got, just for pointing out what quite a few people think..but those responses are a perfect example of why some BB fans have lost interest in the show...and whether poster or moderator, some of us 'dread' on season....
..it's sad that this thread got a bit silly..it wasn't what I intended it for...
..Could a moderator please close this thread now..I think as OP, I can request that...
..thank you..
