Great, hope it works for some. Putting hundreds of chemicals and carcinogens in your body voluntarily is not a good idea.
(spoken like a true ex smoker haha)

Launched in response to statistics which show more than a third of smokers still think the health risks are greatly exaggerated

Tbh stuff like this more likely to just keep people thinking a lot if anti-smoking stuff is hyperbolic scaremongering

When I was a smoker these ads never bothered me. I was well aware what I was doing was bad for me but I was addicted so didn't think about it too much.

Anti-smokers. :bored:

We all know smoking's bad for your health and if people still want to smoke then that's their business and nobody else's.

Why can't we be more like Holland/Portugal, countries who actually recognise that people are free to do whatever rocks their boat?

Redway

but its the truth

It's also the truth that everybody knows about the health implications of smoking and that nobody else should give a damn, quite frankly.

This is good. People don't have to pay attention but it's the truth after all.

it's a pretty gross advert, if it stops a small percentage it's worth it. Also spoken like a ex smoker..we are the worst.:joker:

Of course anyone can do what they like with their bodies. However, this ad has both info and a visual that hopefully has an impact to show what smoking can cause for those who are unaware.

If I'm totally honest I do think these advert campaigns are a waste of money.....they smack of hypocrisy. The government spend a fortune on them but still rub their hands together at the tax money they get from smokers.....

chuff me dizzy

Its too far IMO ,my sister in law just lost her non smoking husband to lung cancer and it really upset her when she saw it

I notice this forum now carries these ads. On a forum with a swear filter and where we're asked not to post anything too explicit, I find it a bit sickening to be faced with a picture of a cancerous tumour in all its disgusting glory every time I open 'Chat and Games'.

Maybe it's a regional, or at least a UK thing? it's pretty grim. And in Chat and Games!
