So was watching this doc on the 'Spear Of Destiny' earlier and wondered your views on holy relics. Do you think it's possible anything is out there that could relate to Jesus or have actually touched him? I think the Spear Of Destiny is the most known and there's 3 different spears that are said to be it. Here is a list of the most famous ones:
Shrouds and faces
Shroud of Turin
Sudarium of Oviedo
Image of Edessa
Crown of Thorns
Veil of Veronica
Holy Chalice
The True Cros
Now, this isn't a Religious debate really, or theological. It's just asking if you think anything could've possibly survived, be real or even have been there in the first place.

I would say if anything like that existed, it's unlikely they would have survived all this time

I'm not sure if most of the ones that are held in Churches have been proven fake. I think some of them have but some Churches won't let Scientists near them at all

I think the holy grail (chalice) would have survived.

Theoretically there is no reason that artifacts couldn't have survived. But you have to take into consideration that no one wrote a word about Jesus until he'd been dead for 40 years.
I can't envisage a situation where there was a thriving black market for things that had been in his presence, but yet no one bothered to jot a word down about him, in his life.

That's true. It's all speculation still of how he died, so none of the items may have even been used.

I'd happily accept a story of a rebellious Palestinian Rabbi, who was crucified for rabble rousing (or something similar). I don't accept the blatant copy of Egyptian theology that sprung up around him decades after his death though.
I was in Amiens (North France) a couple of years ago, and I went into the cathedral, and they claimed to have the skull of John the baptist in a glass box. Bizarre.

Of course not! It was broken up into tiny bits just after Jesus died for that very purpose.

According the bible he was only really close to a very few of them. The rest were just tagging along
