Sooty has told me some bad news.

Pyramid* (Caroline) died after a sudden illness on 26 December 2012.

Caroline was always controversial and much fun - some liked her, some not.

She loved TiBB and kept the forum active.

I hope you will join me in remembering her :-(

This is shocking news :( Caroline was always a good friend to me on here, and also before TIBBs, I knew her from DS and another forum. Such sad news :(

If you hear any more on the illness or anything, could you let me know please by PM if not convenient on the thread, Josy, thank you. I never knew she was ill :( such very sad new. TIBBs loses a great forum member and character in Mids :(

After everything I've said to/about her, I always liked her being on the forum and by the end before she was banned I ended up liking her. I remember once she out of the blue messaged me asking if I was alright after a real life situation had affected me and she showed a whole other side to her that I loved.

I can't say I was particularly well acquainted with previous forum members who passed on, but, whilst not on a personal level, I had seen posts from Pyramid* around the forum, very recently too I recall, so it feels 'different' to other news of a similar nature we've (sadly) seen on this forum. Bless you for posting that up, Ammi. I couldn't stop the tears earlier or that horrible feel deep in the stomach when such news like this is posted. And although that poem brought those tears again, it is such a beautiful poem and part of Caroline that she left behind. It is beautiful as was she, she had a softer side that many never got to see in posts.

I'm in shock, pyramid was one of the first to welcome me to tibb.
We clashed on our political and social outlooks but I had a lot of respect for her.

I have emailed U.V to let her know because they were quite close for a time and she is also sad to hear the news :( The funny thing is, some DS posters were only discussing Pyramid the other day and I think it was Patsy who posted a link to an old thread she'd started. She said how much she missed her from the forum as well, and I'm sure she will be upset when she finds out what has happened.

So devastated to find this out yesterday; I'd been off-line for a few days and hadn't heard anything. Mids was a wise old owl; hilariously funny, deeply perceptive, with an absolute heart of gold. Intelligent, articulate and devilishly witty. She was incredibly stubborn/tenacious (depending on which side of the argument you were on!). I 'got' her from the very get go. We had some craic on DS. While we were swapping bans she got a perma-ban. I was lurking and reading and saw her falling into the fecking trap and couldn't do anything about it. So then I followed her here :hugesmile:

I used to lurk here just to see Mids winding people up in her own inimitable style. It helped that I almost always agreed with her on everything; but I think she was a giant on TiBBs and I hated to see her banned because I know how much it meant to her.

Mids was one of less than a handful who I trusted enough to make contact with off-board and I'm delighted that I did.
