View Full Version : Big Brother 8 and how to save it

As you will have noticed, thanks to the ridiculous voting out of all the characters that are either loud, funny, rude, nasty, cheating and generally repugnant,Big Brother 7 has become Big Borer 7 and is consequently as dull as ditchwater.
The reason for this, yet again is the lack of understanding of how BB should work by a section of the voting audience, mainly being young, particularly teenage girls.
If any of the above characters are up against any boy that is nice but dull or good looking and dull, they are OUT.
Grace and Sezer were both vile people but because of this they caused problems and stirred up hatred and they went out.
Lea, my god this woman was a characteur of herself, the vulgarness, the ridiculous breasts, the paranoia, the false tears and the revolting self importance all traits you dont want to see if your bringing her home to meet yer mum, but she caused havoc at times and it was great to watch.
Nikki, lovely lovely Nikki a more shallow person you probably could not wish to meet. The tantrams were hilarious, the over pronouciation, hilarious every dairy room visit an absolute classic but yet again this was not enough entertainment for our young friends and out she went. For ****s sake what do you people want from a housemate?
Luckily with Nikki gone there was still Jayne. Jayne was a fantastic housemate that should have been there from the start. How the producers decided that the likes of Richard, Glyn, Imogen,George,Dawn and the deplorable Mikey were ahead of her in the pecking order I will never know. Can someone please explain this to me. Jayne, the last bastion of fun left in the house. The last big character. At least there was still Jayne to keep it going till the end where Pete can pick up his cash for 13 weeks of twitching and very little else. But what did they do? They got her out as well.
So well done for ruining yet another series of Big Brother you must be very proud.
Anyway how do we stop this happening again? I'll tell you how.
Next year there should be an age limit of 25 on voting. No one under 25 should be allowed to vote because they are not responsible enouigh to understand what makes good telly.
I realsise this plan is completely unworkable to they should do the next best thing and put the voting charge up to £2 a go. This should put voting out of the reaches of the infantile and stop incessant texting fo 10 or 20 votes per eveiction.
Bring it on Channel 4. No votes for kids.

The kids are the ones with the money though....lol More kids vote than adults imo. If it was 25+ I couldn't vote :O nor 80% of this forum I bet.
Yeah ALOT of votes come from people under 25 so i can't see them setting that age limit any time soon.

I would think alot of the voters are under 20 so Channel4 would lose out on alot of money and if the votes went up to 2 thwn they lose even more money.
Btw - Mike, love your pic lol The BBBM Whale is Brillant!

it's been better than BB6, because BB6 actually put me off big brother. Too many sleazeballs and not enough endearing characters. I also couldn't bear last years house, what an eyesore, it had a manky layout aswell.

Nice Idea, Will never happen I'm affraid.
BB's target audience is social demographic groups D&E aged 16-24.
D = working class (semi and unskilled manual workers)
E = those at lowest level of subsistence (casual or lowest grade workers)
This accounts for 55% of BB's viewing figures.

I thought that last series was excellent entertainment until the last 3 or 4 weeks of it. This one hasn't been as good but there's hope for it yet. I think that things have picked up since the newbies came in.

Maybe they should actually explain the game of Big Brother to the viewers as well as the housemates.
Be yourself, get nominated for whatever reason and let the public vote on who they want evicted.
The word "vile" not something I've seen or heard for about twenty years by the way, is a word I really can't stand to read. But that's just me. I think most people are only using it, because of the nikki influence.
So is it a popularity contest? Of course. The trick is to be influencial without being too blatant. Grace although not really a nice person in the house, was playing the game very very well. Only due to outside influences was she up for nomination which meant she was evicted by the same people who talked about her and derided her methods.
Should nice boring people win all the time?? As far as I can remember, Nadia was the "loudest" housemate ever to win Big Brother. She was larger than life and a demon without cigarettes. I'm sure she won the series, perhaps I'm wrong.
So do boring people win Big Brother all the time??

Change the format slightly, the person that is evicted gets his/her interview with Davina, then goes for a last meal, then goes out and faces a firing squad. They could rename the show
"I Wannabee A Celeb Without Doing Anything To Deserve The Status But All I Got Was This Extremely Accurate Firing Squad".
The viewing figures would go through the roof, Channel 4 would make billions of ££££'s and the world would be rid of some of the most odious, good-for-nothing non-entities on the planet.
You get me babes?

The ones from BB5 and BB6 I hated I didn’t want any of them to win they were all despicable and contemptible.
To change it a bit have the housemates with two votes at nomination time, one to evict and one to save, then once the save votes are subtracted from the evict then you have your ones up for the public vote.

im 13 and ive always watched big brother and most the time i dont even vote, i only vote in the final and thats no more than 3 times and anyway how would you stop people under 25 voting???
stacey
23-07-2006, 01:18 PM
and if it was over 25's only half the people in big brother would be allowed to vote because a lot of them are about 23ish in big brother so thats stupid if you cant vote but can go on the show

They should have a competition to come up with new tasks before this show finishes and the winner with the best task gets a tour of the new house before the show starts.

A bit less of the naff people trying to launch themselves or increase their celeb careers.
Bring back the taks that last all week giving the housemates something to do other than sunbathe.

i dont get it why do ppl go on big brother to launch themselves, get their foot in the door or to increase their celeb careers??? shouldnt they just go on to be on big brother. Yeah i want tasks to be brought back, something really evil and to make them suffer...... MUWWAAAHHHAAAAA:joker:

Nikki went on to try and ensnare a Premiership footballer (if she wants a high profile relationship then she went the wrong way about it)
Pete went on to gain some profile for his band (not exactly The Ordinary Boys eh?)
Lea and Imogen went on to boost sales of their, ahem, 'videos'
Sam went on to 'be accepted'
Aisleyne went on because all her ghetto pals wanted to do it and she wanted to outdo them
Mikey went on because he took a wrong turning somewhere and the producers didn't have the heart to throw him out, especially when none of them could understand a word he said when he stated that "Im looking for the Jerry Springer Show"
they all have tenuous reasons for going on the show but at least Richard is honest "I'm here to win the money".

Yeah thats another thing I saw on his profile I liked he was 100% open and honest and said he was after the cash.

We are brainstorming for ideas on how to make the show better.
I think you should also think about what you post before the moderators take action.

"At least there was still Jayne to keep it going till the end where Pete can pick up his cash for 13 weeks of twitching and very little else. But what did they do? They got her out as well."
For crying out loud, get over it. While I'm sure there are a number of people who would agree with that, Pete is the obvious favourite HM and Pete 'fans' know why that is because, from what I've gathered, the majority of them have actually managed to see beyond his Tourettes (which actually isn't particularly noticeable anyway). It's just the people who choose to have a problem with him who keep going on about the fact that he has Tourettes!

"Next year there should be an age limit of 25 on voting. No one under 25 should be allowed to vote because they are not responsible enouigh to understand what makes good telly."
And I'm not trying to pick a fight here, but how the hell can you or anyone else tar everyone under the age of 25 with the same brush?

That is just stupid! Half if not more of BB viewers are under 25!And you just presume it is us who vote out all these people.Adults probaly do it too.We know entertainment but we know annoyance and people are evicted when they are annoying.Mean people don't deserve to stay. And as someone said you can audition when you are 18 so you could go in but not vote :puzzled:Just stupid idea and if BB did it they would lose there target voters.

Make it a vote to save.
Nikki would never have gone and Jayne, Lea and Lisa might not have and one of the dull ones would have gone.

I think it's a stupid idea too which is why it probably will never happen. To say that everyone under the age of 25 is not 'responsible' enough to vote a HM out (for ****'s sake, it's Big Brother not a government election) just shows plain ignorance.

Idon't think they will change it to limit the voting age it is just too complex to check and just for example not to start a war compare Jennie to Nikki and say which is more mature.
You just can't make a broad statement and expect it to cover everyone.
The votes are really about the money so they are not going to change it in a way that makes less money.

Ive never said BB is boring
But this is pathetic
Everyone wants Snoozie to stay in.
Sezer, Grace, Lisa, Lea, NIKKI, and Jayne have all been big characters, and what do the stupid public do?
Vote them out.
Its just saddening :bored:

Nikki and Jayne was a big mistake.

I didnt much like Nikki, but she was fantastic entertainment. Im 14, ive never voted, but i got hooked on big Brother last year. I think clnbnt06's idea of having a vote to save is a so much better alternative, even though that was how such a fantastic character like kemal was evicted last year. in the long run though, it would be a much more positive approach to the whole thing. eg. instead of getting rid of the one you HATE, you would be trying to save the one you like. :hello:
