Synopsis:
What do you get when you put a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost in a house-share in Barry? The return of Being Human!

Ghost Alex is adjusting to life after death with werewolf Tom but vampire Hal is in hell. Not because he’s chained up like an animal, but because he’s desperate to get his marigolds on the messy house.

But when Tom and Alex decide to set him free, Hal’s wracked by uncertainty…can he control his bloodlust? Things get complicated with the return of Mr Rook, the shady figure whose government department protects the world from supernaturals.

Having been fired from the café, Hal and Tom find new employment at the Barry Grand Hotel, home to poisonous pensioner Captain Hatch (Phil Davis). Unknown to our trio, his decrepit exterior hides an ancient evil that threatens not only their friendship but also the entire world.

Starring Damien Molony (Hal), Michael Socha (Tom), Kate Bracken (Kate), Phil Davis (Captain Hatch), Steven Robertson (Mr Rook), Colin Hoult (Crumb), Victoria Ross (Lady Catherine), Jeremy Swift (Emil), Clare Cage (Patsy).

Spoilers from SFX:
5x01: Tom and Hal have been sacked from their jobs, we're reintroduced to Mr Rook and have two other villains in Captain Hatch and a vampire named Crumb (Colin Hoult). Also, we're meeting the first supernatural trinity as well.

5x02: Honolulu Heights is haunted and Captain Hatch gives an impressive baddie speech.

5x03: Julia Barrett plays a deluded werewolf named Larry and Amanda Hale plays an unlikely Regency Ghost. Also a great comedy episode for Tom.

5x04: A big episode for Crumb and also another werewolf guest with Ricky Grover playing an innocent one named Bobby.

5x05: A big lead up to the climax when all the stories start crashing into each other, also has a rather exciting five minutes and features Kathryn Prescott as Natasha.

5x06: The finale with cameos from characters from last year (none of the original cast). We're also told what Captain Hatch's plan is and we get to see it played out.

Now onto the grittier stuff - Captain Hatch is actually the devil and he's able to get people to kill themselves with words.

Also, Mr Rook is an ambivalent characters. Sometimes he'll be an ally to the Honolulu Heights gang, sometimes he won't be.

We'll also be getting some more flashbacks with Hal as well as seeing him taking on a manager's position in the Barry Grand Hotel where Hatch is residing.

Hatch is also twisted by his own malevolence, hence his current physical condition as well and his arc is about his slow climb back to power.

And the show returns in February.

Oh and my game entitled Being Human is nothing to do with the series. :idc: I can see people asking me that... But great that it's back.

I know (though the logo is quite similar to the US version's), but it jogged my memory of starting this thread.

Excellent opener. So this series big bad is the devil himself. Fans who follow the show's blog will have recognised the Home Secretary as Toby Whithouse, the show's creator and writer ;).

It's a good thing this is the last series, Where do you go after beating the Devil? Better to go out with a bang.

And that's it, its over. Nice to know the final series was so well watched and recieved on here ...

Anyway..

Brilliant, just like the show itself, started just how it ended, domestic, though I have to see that DVD scene, I can't not know, my imagination is nowhere near as great as Toby's, it won't do it justice.

Think I'm going to do a rewatch it all from the start, I haven't watched the first series since it was announced Russell and Sinead were leaving before series 4.

It's a great shame that Dancing On Ice will probably have gotten 7 or 8 times it's viewership tonight, it doesn't deserve a hundredth of it, BH always was (even during the 1.8m highs of series 2 and 3) massively underrated. Hope Watch repeat the hell out of it and put it in front of new eyes and it's fandom lives on.

As sad as it is that it's now all over, it's mad to think that in 2008 it was looking unlikely to get a full series and here we are six years later celebrating 5 years of it, let's be thankful that it got the run it did, no one expected it to, even if it was less than it deserved (a 50th anniversary and three unofficial films :p).

Not that Zai's forgiven, I have no reason to watch BBC Three till he sods off.

Scarlett.

Glad it was a happy ending, much better than going out with a sad ending.

Well I guess that depends on how you interpret the last shot of

The Origami wolf, the Devil made that in Tom's dream world so why does it exist in the real world at the end? Did they all die and this is their idea of Heaven? Did the devil win? Or was it simply a sign that the Devil still lives?

It was a good finale.
