If you're going to jump off a bridge because people have a diffident opinion from you then a forum is no the best place to be :idc:.
And its about the song not the artist :idc: :idc:

ah snob, the inevitable retort
this is a thread where you implicitly believe one song to be better than another, an inherent 'snobbery' in itself.
stop whining and using tired arguments to try and defend yourself every time someone mean on the internet says you suck at music. if you were that set in your views and 'entitled to your opinion' (just sticking that one in there before someone else does) you wouldn't ****ing mind.
that over, I have one or two I'd argue fit the bill:
M.I.A.
ewRjZoRtu0Y
HQwm1v1R-qM
I do love the Clash and this song, but M.I.A. just owns it.
Sugababes (x2)
dSAGsiVSoeE
-0WNbm1jz6A
iirDzMk5ysI
I'm not sure if this is 'better' than 'Are Friends Electric?' but it's more listenable and a genius mash-up.
Beyonce
ViwtNLUqkMY
hm2YjDENPPU
A lot of people disagree and dismiss 'Crazy in Love' as a standard sex waffle. We call those people fools whilst we shake our asses.
I'm not going to go into hip hop because there are so many of them.

Prefer I'll Be Missing You to I'll Be Watching You if this is the kind of thing you're on about, The Police version is just creepy and odd and doesn't really make much sense

I don't think Foals really mentioned they sampled the Lemonheads (they didn't steal it though) and I still like their song, just like the Foals one better

Erm, Salman is completely right. Everyone is being complete snobs, we're just giving out opinions. Then saying comments like -Preparing self for complete retardation- or whatever it was. That proves you believe your music taste is superior to everyone elses.
No one bloody deny this one!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only contribution to this thread. There are many inspired samples but I would argue that none of them are better than the original. I dont think thats snobbery I just dont see the point of saying one or other is better. I also dont see how clipping a few seconds of a track and looping it with more modern production techniques can produce something better than an original composition. Thats just my own personal opinion.

And you lot only say that because you are young and know no better.
I will say some are better than the originals, but most won;t be for some of older ones. Imagine, it's like teenagers in ten years time comparing something to Rihanna or Leona and saying the new version is better.

Definitely my final contribution to this thread. I've finally found a track where I think the sample is better than the original. Its still a close one. Two great songs but t
he PM Dawn vid is one of my fave of all time so I think it gets the nod.
