View Full Version : Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe (BBC2, Thursday 10pm)

If you enjoy Brooker’s brand of wordy, sneering, supercilious, clever-clever diatribes — and I know I do — his family of “wipe” series here takes a new twist. The brief is simple: to look at the events of the week in politics, TV and the online world and mock mercilessly. In other words, it may pick up where what Brooker and others did on Channel 4’s ill-fated 10 O’Clock Live left off, but hopefully with less padding and more of the lovingly researched and ludicrous clips his BBC4 shows have. Here’s hoping.

1/6. New series. The writer and broadcaster offers a satirical look at the latest news from politics, the media and the internet, casting a critical eye over trends in TV, cinema, computer games and social media. Charlie will be joined in the studio each week by guests and there will be regular contributions from American comedian Doug Stanhope

:amazed:

There's an image for the programme with Richard Osman and (I think) Susan Calman as the guests ( both) so I assume they're for episode one.

I'm not a fan of them making the 6th episode a compilation usually, but Cunk and Shitpeas' self referencing of the fact that it was one with the 'there was this Weekly Wipe programme, and there was all these bathroom tile things flying about the place' and the 'no, you go away mate' piss take of Charlie's goodbye was worth it :laugh2:

That was a great series. Cunk and ****peas were epic and even Limmy was funny at times. CB is very, very funny.
