louise kelton has just been sworn in by obama as only the 2nd black female US marshall after climbing the ranks for 30 years, and she hails all the way from Cardiff bay
great stuff...cardiff bay has always been a beacon of light in race relations, in the working class areas of the docks of tiger bay now cardiff bay, everyone is colourblind, theyre simply welsh. shirley bassey always said she knew nothing of racism until she left cardiff. same with colin jackson and legendary rugby league player billy boston to name but a few. her cardiff family ber younger brother and parents are very proud..
just to underline how deep this goes, the legendary african american singer paul robeson loved the place so much and he was beloved so much he became a sort of honourary welshman and sang many times in the coal valleys ....in america black men picked white cotton, in wales white men picked black coal, there was a deep connection ....heres paul robeson singing the welsh version of the welsh national anthem.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziJoep1cDlY
its a very special place and louise is a very special person:wavey:
