Camden pedestrian dies after shop sign falls on him

A man has died after a shop sign fell on him in north London.

The victim suffered a serious head injury when he was was hit by the sign, at about 17:00 GMT in Camden.

Police confirmed the man - thought to be in his 20s - had died in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at the scene, in Camden Road.

The Scotland Yard spokesman said an advertising hoarding board appeared to have fallen on him. He was taken to University College Hospital.

Camden Road is closed between Camden Street and Kentish Town Road.

Blimey ..... he was probably just going to a local shop or walking home from work when ..... :eek:

Shopkeeper Fazle Elahi, who works opposite the scene of the accident, said: “The ambulance came really quickly. It looked like the William Hill sign had hit him. A woman at the scene was crying. He wasn't moving.”
