I want a Viking funeral where they push me out to sea and fire burning arrows at me....failing that cremation I guess as being buried alive is a huge fear of mine and I CBA going all kill bill and learning how to break out of a coffin by punching my way through the wood.

I don't particularly care what happens to my body, I mean I won't be alive :p

Whatever option is less hassle for my family I guess! I don't really want them to have my ashes in the house or anything like that. Just creepy

Buried, hate the idea of just being reduced to a pile of ashes, also find the thought of leaving my body to science quite uncomfortable

I know I'll be dead so it doesn't really matter but still :idc: I like the thought of being peacefully buried in some nice graveyard somewhere

I would say cremated, but the thought of my family keeping my ashes in the house is a bit creepy. I read somewhere that you can get your ashes pressed into a diamond but that's even creepier.

So I'd rather be buried I suppose.

I want to be cremated.

The idea of my body rotting in a coffin just seems yucky.

Whatever my family decides, don't really care, I'm dead

I do have a donor card though if that means anything, and they can take practically anything they want for other people/research

:joker: you just need to round up a few Vikings and your all set.

I don't like the idea of being buried or burned so not sure what Im going to do.

I have a real fear of being buried alive so it's cremation for me or leave my body to medical science, idealy I'de like to be frozen but i hear it's really expensive.

I want to be cremated. I have a fear of waking up once I am buried. I could wake up whilst being cremated, but then my death (I hope) will come around much quicker than waking up in a dark box 6 feet underground, panic setting in, and eventually suffocating. I might try and practice the trick Uma Thurman did though. Might take a while....

But what if your not dead Joey?

I think I will be, a lot goes on now to ensure you are dead so I have faith in that.
I know people and family who have been buried and also others who have been cremated.
I find going to visit graves at certain times of the year helps me personally, I find cremation though a bit too final for want of a better word.

Perhaps by the time I go, they will have in coffins a siren that you can set off should you wake up, like the bell they used to link into coffins and graves a good while ago that you could pull and someone would hear it and get you out.

You lie at least 3 days in a coffin anyway so I feel pretty confident I would be dead however.

Being buried alive would never actually happen anymore in this country though, even if it did you'd be dead within an hour anyway

My mother was cremated. We scattered her ashes on a hillside by a lighthouse overlooking the sea in Anglesey. I always think of her being free, in a place she loved, and part of the landscape, in whatever form. I wouldn't like to think of her being in the ground. It's a calm and tranquil place, and it was her wish. She also has a gravestone at the local church, but it's not where she is. I prefer to think of her as a spirit, rather than a body in the ground. Everybody's different though.

Cremated for sure.

I wanna go UP , not down... I want all of my atoms to be recycled as soon as possible. The idea of my body rotting away in a casket is not appealing at all.

My mom was cremated. and I admit it was strange at the funeral to have her in a little box as opposed to a giant casket, but at the same time my mom always told me that our bodies are only a shell, and I agree with that. I think once you're dead, you're body is just an empty shell.

I'd much rather have my body burned and sent up into the air than just be a rotting piece of meat in the ground.

I want to be buried. In the case that there is an afterlife I want my entire body to enter the unknown. I do not believe in heaven/hell but I do believe in spirits. Having your body turned to ashes won't achieve this.

why do people find burying so unappealing? decomposing naturally in the ground is far more appealing than being artificially reduced to powder

You'll be lucky ! They are overrun with people who want to and you have to have some odd disease ect.. to maybe get picked. Tons of people want to cos they don't want to pay for a funeral !
