So i had a birthday recently (while i was banned) and i'm feeling hella old. I turned 31. And for some reason 31 feels much worse than 30.

Was just wondering who else here is 30 or more? Cause sometimes this forum feels like it's all teenagers.

I'm tryna tell myself that 31 is not old, what do you guys think, is 31 old? when you turned 31 did you feel old? Please share yur experiences of being 30, do you think it's gonna be okay? The 30's are supposed to be the best years of your life, right?

I need some 30+ support!

Good to have you back Alex! Im a tad over 30 :D: I recall the 30 milestone being absolutely torturous. I dont know why I had a total meltdown about it, it does get better though, you kinda grow into your own skin after 30 at least thats what I found if that makes sence.

Happy Birthday (belatedly). I hated the thought of turning 30....and dreaded the day but once I turned 30 I didn't feel any different. One thing I found though is I don't look forward to birthdays the same any more - I used to have a countdown running up to mine and always had a big night out planned etc but now I am quite happy to let the day pass quietly by with no fuss....I have stopped counting and am now considering counting backwards....the thought of 40 being not that far away - now THAT makes me feel ill.

Were you guys married by 30? I think being still single is what's making it feel so horrible being 30. I feel that biological clock ticking so loudly right now. i'm 31, and i'm as far away as ever from starting a family. I've always thought that i want to have a family, and now that i'm 31 it's getting really real. I'm thinking if i want to have a family, i better get it started soon.

I'm literally hearing that biological clock ticking! especially as a gay man, because i know the adoption process is intense and can take a long time and cost alot of money, so i'm starting to wonder if i'll get to have the family that i've always dreamed of...

It's really stressful thinking about it. :(

I didn't have my son till I was 34...you have plenty of time so I wouldn't worry too much about that. A lot has changed in my life in my 30s, I had a relationship endly sadly and another one begin plus the blessing of my son. 31 is still young so just relax and enjoy things if you can and everything will probably naturally fall into place.

thanks Annie. i hope you are right. I so hope i can start a family, and i'm so scared i won't get to have that. It's a weird feeling wanting it so badly but also not trying to rush it or freak out about it.

I wasn't married but I was living with my now husband for about 7 years, we got married soon after (my meltdown) and had two kids by the time I was 35 so I suppose that did contribute to my sense of well being heading into 40. 31 is still very young for fatherhood, nice thing about being a Dad is you can experience that right into your 50/60s even 70s so dont panic!

Thanks Cherie, makes me feel a bit better. You're right. actually i'm adopted and my parents were in their late 30's when they adopted me. I always forget that.

I completely know how you feel Alex, I was exactly the same and had problems in my 20s and thought it would never happen to me. I started to deal with the fact and was looking into adoption before I had my son. As Cherie said though, you have plenty of time to find the right person and start a family...just enjoy yourself

The girls are right, Alex, you are on a fine path. And as Annie's siggie now says "if you don't believe in my dream, you don't care anyway." Good 'un. :fierce: :D

Got to say I've never felt old and feel life starts at 30. If you think that you're old then it get you down just enjoy life no matter what age. Thats my mantra and i'm sticking by it.

I've been part of the 30s club for quite a while now and I have to say I still feel young. Don't dwell on it too much, just have a good time. :)

I know this sounds like a weird question but what is it actually like to be older? do you feel more mature or near enough the same as you did when you were about 20ish?

I still feel the same as I did when I was 21... obviously, I have more responsibilities now, but in my head, I'm still a youngster :)

add to that that you feel happy in your own skin, and dont take sheet from people who do a fine job of being idiots just about sums it up.

They were a Brit pop /punk band ad I had high hopes....the lead singer was completely off his box but so loud when they went on that you couldn't really tell what the **** they were singing....

Ahhh, does sound a decent blend. But if the singer can't hack it there's no hope for them!
