5 regular corner shops and 3 chippys within 5 minutes walking distance, a shopping centre also about 5 minutes away, a McDonalds and Subway right outside it, etc.

Would prefer to live somewhere much more quiet though.

...we have a village post office/shop, which is all really..apart from two pubs...I have to drive to get anywhere else and it's all country lanes, so if there's snow or anything it's difficult...

We have a 'high street' with stores like Boots ,Post Office ,B&M, Co-op, M&Co and Waitrose, a Greggs, Subway, couple of chippes , couple of garages , delicatessant shops, and Costa , lots of local shops and second hand shops,Library ,various pubs, couple of hotels and a Beefeater not far away.so it's not so bad.

The high street is about a 15-20 minute walk from my house which is handy. and we have a retail park just up the hill, probably 10 min walk.

but we have a corner shop at the top of the road too. No one really uses it though because all the rough kids hang out outside

Our village is too small to have any shops, nearest is a spar about 5 minutes drive away in the next village, plenty of cornershops/supermarkets/takeaways within walking distance of where I live at Uni though

At the bottom of my road is a co-op, a nisa, 2 pub, hairdressers, a bridal boutique and a weird little hardware type shop that has wreaths outside but I've never been in.....it looks like a shop you would go in and never come out.....everything lee supermarkets, more pubs, restaurants etc are all a five or so minute drive away....

A garage, chip-shop, hairdressers, chemist and sandwich shop next to each other, then up the road I have a pizza place, indian and Co-op all near each other.

There are no shops at all where I live at the moment, there used to be like 5 shops and a pib and a chipper but, they have all closed, the last shop just closed last month, there is a furniture warehouse though.

There is a shopping centre down the road a bit, which has a petrol station, supermacs, Mr Price, Tesco, A Paint Shop, Vegetable shop thing, dry cleaners etc.. just lots of random stuff, the Post Office is there too. There used to be a pub but the owners son got murdered right there so, it closed down eventually. It doesn't take too long to walk there, maybe 20 minutes at most if you don't walk very fast, but I wouldn't count it as being in my area.

There's a Tesco up the road which has a newsagent, cafe, butcher, dentist and dry cleaners in. The on the main street there's another supermarket, a 'shopping center' which is Costa, Toymaster, Heatons, a hairdressers, post office and a few restaurants. Then there's restaurants, pharmacies, betting shops, knick knack shops, takeaways, bookshop etc on the main street.

At home there's a co-op, a chippy and an off-licence (says a lot about Torbay, really) around the corner and that's about it, have to get a bus elsewhere.

At uni there's a big row of shops up the road, and we're only a five minute walk from the main city, so...
