View Full Version : Do you like going to the cinema...
..or do you prefer to watch a dvd at home..?..
..we have a small theatre house near where I live..there are sofas and you can take a bottle of wine..have a meal etc, while you're watching a movie..it's quite nice but I don't like the Cineworld so much...it's always really busy and people quite often chatting all through the movie, which can be a bit distracting...I love watching dvds at home though...

2010 was the last time I went. Just watch movies on the laptop when I have nothing to do.

I much prefer being comfortable in bed, lay down watching a movie I want to watch.
I'm anti social, I can't be doing with people crunching and whispering when I'm concentrating.

Hate going to cinema, theres always people talking
I get bored in the cinema after about half an hour and pray that the film finishes early.

I get too fidgety at the cinema....plus it's soo expensive. I had my bag searches last time I went too....it's the pictures not a bloody airport so DVD at home wins my vote...

..yeah, that's what I find as well Annie..the seats aren't very comfortable and it's just so expensive...and you can't really eat anything because people would just glare and tut at you..
..I prefer being comfortable at home or going to the small movie theatre where the sofas and seats are much further apart and everyone is eating and enjoying the movie.... so wish we had drive-ins here...I've alwayd wanted to do that...
much prefer bowling as an evening out
..I have to have the bumper things to keep my bowl in the aisle...I'm rubbish..not a very good swing...

When I go to the cinema I just bring a sandwich and water with me. I hate paying for overpriced food and drink. :nono:

i rarely go.. once or twice a year. Last time i went was early December to see "End of watch" and it cost £10 for the ticket... You could also pay more for extra leg room seats and on top of any drinks or food it could come to around £15-£20, you could get two new Dvds for that price.

..yeah and you can watch them again and again Drew...
I do really like going but only go very rarely, so expensive now that I'll only go if there's a big film out that I've been really wanting to see and am fairly sure will be worth it. Having said that though I don't think watching a film on telly or on laptop really compares to seeing it at the cinema

I think they were looking for recording equipment as they had notices up everywhere about making illegal recordings. I must just look dodgy

only really go to the cinema to see big blockbusters or Tarantinos... if I want to see something like an arty film about suicide or cancer I'll just download it :p

I love going to the cinema it is a great day out and it is cool being in the cinema. With a DVD you can be more cosy but it is less of an event.

The last time I went to the cinema was to see The Hunger Games.
I only go to the cinema to watch films I really want to see. The next time I go will probably be in May to see Star Trek
People annoy me in the cinema.
EDIT: I lie. The last time I went to the cinema was to see Avengers

I like both for different reasons. Going to the cinema tends to be a social experience for me, I couldn't enjoy it by myself while DVDs are more of a solitary experience. I wanna start go to the cinema more often though.

I only like going to the cinema on cheap tuesdays
I like the idea of going to the cinema, but I usually hate it whilst I'm there. I'll never understand why people just have to eat whilst watching a film; why not eat beforehand or afterwards?? I actually find the noise unbearable. Same goes for talking and whispering... how people cant just shut up for a couple of hours is beyond me! Also, why, if there are hundreds of empty seats do people come and sit right next to you? It drives me mad... oh and people texting during a film
DVDs FTW :)
Bet people get pissed off with me in the cinema because I always take a massive bag of crisps

I'd grab your bag of crisps and stamp on them if I was there, those poor movie go-ers who have to put up with your racket :bored:
I try my best to wait for a noisy moment to go for a rustle :idc:

Dave and I thought we had the cinema to ourselves one night until 3 women came in.....and sat right next to us! They didnt even leave a couple of seats between us. Then the multi bag of crisps and the tins of juice came out. I know we should have moved, but for some reason I thougyt that would be rude. Lol

..that would probably be me as well Lee..I'd feel too self conscious to get up and move seats...it's silly the things we just put up with, when there's all those cinema seats we could sit in...

I adore the cinema. I still watch an equal amount of movies through downloading them, and I watch some that are on tv.
I prefer when there aren't that many others people in the movie theatre. Like I don't it when it's packed.
