I will Kazanne, I was watching the interview today on 'This Morning' with his Mum.
Absolutely horrific thing to happen to so young a child,in fact to any child. His Mum showed great dignity the way she spoke in the interview even when discussing the criminals responsible.

Poor Denise she hardly ever smiles, you can see the sadness in her eyes, but Yes Joey she has been dignified about it, she is soon to go to the parole board again and ask that Venables is not released, but I'm guessing he will be.

I hope they do take into account her hurt, pain and devastation at the parole hearing.
She rightly terms it a fight for real justice for James and I am with her all the way as to that.

20 years :o wow, that's quite haunting.
As for Venables, I don't think he should be released again. Needs to be in some secure psychological unit as far as I'm concerned. At least Robert Thompson has moved on with his life (well, you know what I mean) and kept out of trouble. But alas, that's a different thread entirely.
All the best for tomorrow and Rest In Peace James.

Absolutely devastating Kaz. I remember the case all too well and being devastated at the time for the family. We used to have a shop in In Shops in Kirkby and would see Denise from time to time and she always smiled but it never quite met her eyes. I remember being sad that it tore the family apart too. Be strong tomorrow. Take care....he will never be forgotten.

Thankyou annie and Jack,I have to admit we've had a few tears today already,so I will be so glad when tomorrow is over, those years go by so quickly, but hell that pain is raw,how Denise and Ralph have coped God knows.

20years!
Of course I remember him. But I was often wondered why you had special message of James Bulger on your signature. Now I know you have a strong connection with him and the family. I am so sorry about James.
I will light extra candle for James tomorrow and will think of him.
Safe journey to Liverpool, Kazanne.
I watched his mum's interview this morning and still, even after 20 years I find it unbearable to think about what happened and what his family have been through.
We'll all be thinking of you tomorrow Kazanne. Blow him a wee kiss from us.

Just wanted to post this poem we keep for James.
I'll Lend You A Child
by Edgar Guest
"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine," He said.
For you to love - while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his smiles to gladden you,
And should this stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked this world over
In search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd
Life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor count the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to
Take him back again?"
I fancied that I heard then say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand."

Been asked to bump this today on behalf of Kazanne who is making the long round trip up to Liverpool to be with family and friends, in order to pay respects to James on the 20th annniversary of his death.
The family are releasing Chinese lanterns and lighting candles in memory of James, so if anyone wants to post a candle in here, I know it would mean a great deal to Kaz.
God bless James

That's beautiful Kizzy.
And nicely put Annie.

Wasn't online much yesterday, so missed this thread.
Hope Kazanne and family have a safe journey. Remember that day so well. May littles James rest in peace, a little life snatched away so cruelly, it still painfully touches my heart when I think of that day. Time passes so quickly but the pain of such a loss is always there.
May you R.I.P little James, and your family hold onto those fond memories they will have of you until the day comes when they meet you again.

I still find this story sad as we've heard cases of children getting lost in shops before and turn up safe, but for sadly for James Bulger he bumped into two psycho's that should have never seen the light of day again.
