''On Monday, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) said one person who had recently travelled to the Middle East and Pakistan was being treated in an intensive care unit at a Manchester hospital after becoming infected with a new type of coronavirus''
The latest case brings the number of confirmed cases across the world to 11, three of which were diagnosed in the UK, the HPA said.

''Coronaviruses cause most common colds but can also cause Sars (severe acute respiratory syndrome). In 2003, hundreds of people died after a Sars outbreak in Asia''

And it has pretty much nothing to do with what the title suggests...

Don't worry Kizzy, I see what you're getting at despite all of these whooshes.

GUYS the point is that when MERS came to the UK in 2013 no one even replied to the thread, and now we have like 500 Covid-19 threads with 3 billion replies.

MERS wasn't as deadly as Covid-19

What are you talking about? I was just looking through old threads I posted and found this on the cases of what we now know as MERS. And how unconcerned we were on the forum about it.

MERS wasn't as deadly as Covid-19

MERS has a case fatality rate of 35% (over 1/3 of all recorded cases) and is, thus, far more deadly than Covid-19 and 3.5x more deadly than oldschool SARS.

It just isn't very contagious so not many people have had it, and when it crops up it's easily contained.

Well explained man.

They will listen to me because I have a deep, booming voice like a comforting blanket to protect them from your shrill, needly tones.

you got your thread in 7 years before anyone else took notice. That's an achievement. TS simply wants to jump on the back of your success. When he isn't using his voice altering software, he squeaks like a mouse

I was fresh out the cloning vats! I probably hadn't even learned to control my sphincter, let alone my vast intellect.
