Arista - this is a serious debate so not one word about the location of this thread.

Right, I think we're all aware this place is a bit quiet, and there are also some underlying tensions around, so as a member that has never taken part in the cooler version of most loved, then I reckon this should be brought back.

I completely understand and respect posters of all ages need to be included, and maybe members could have the right to remove themselves from consideration to prevent massive butthurt and hissy fits?

Anyway, this isn't a thread for arguing as it'll be instantly closed and we'd have proved why we're not allowed nice things.

Shaun is doing an amazing job with the quiz, and events that include 90% of FM's are far more successful than those that don't, so events like this actually prove to be more successful than the accompanying drama would suggest.

Of course, I also think it would be a good idea that if you remove your name from the consideration list, then you are automatically DQ'd from the gay versions of the razzies.

..although I do think that the Razzies create a good balance to the forum..the problem is that Matt has always run them and there is a reason why he decided not to this year...for someone else to do it, would be much like someone other than Zee running ML...and that would be unfair to him because it's like 'his baby'.....and also, they both do them so well....

Saying you don't intend to withdraw and then saying how sensitive you are will surely have an effect on the way people vote for you. If they vote for you. And who is going to measure how sensitive someone is, and whether or not a post is too upsetting.

Perhaps a way around it would be that people have to opt in rather than opting out. If you opt in, you are in fact agreeing to the Razzies and can't really moan about what's said.

What I said, is that it was full of absolute insane loons, that slowed the forum to a standstill at times. BB was so bad, that I'm not sure how many regulars actually watched it anyway, so I don't see how games that include all of the regulars are deemed to be less useful than BB that is mixed at best.

Last time I was actually ripped into for what I do for this forum, the inference being that it was all **** :rolleyes: the comments being made by someone who does feck in but float in and out and talk bollocks. :hugesmile: Laughable really. Kate, re-read this thread. If you want to talk about Agendas, Kizzy, you, and now Cherie have all tried to prod away at me and question me in this thread, so I'll leave that there for people to have a think about which group really is more likely to try and settle scores.

I'm sure if you kick up enough of a fuss, then the mods will step in and cancel it anyway, so you'd have got your way regardless. I extended the hand to you to try and discuss things when things were at their worst. You refused, and I'm not the one holding on to a grudge, as your posts in here clearly emphasise to anyone else reading the thread.

Yes, they do, its a crafty way for certain people to circumvent tibb rules (insults) and that is the main objection people have to them. Matt puts a lot of effort in and in theory it should be fun and lighthearted, IF it goes ahead again it needs to be strictly controlled and overseen.

What I said, is that it was full of absolute insane loons, that slowed the forum to a standstill at times. BB was so bad, that I'm not sure how many regulars actually watched it anyway, so I don't see how games that include all of the regulars are deemed to be less useful than BB that is mixed at best.

...well I think you're just trying to keep the forum ticking along JHC, which I'm sure is what most of us want...it has been very quiet until recently when Shaun kicked it's butt with the pub quiz....I know that you haven’t really been active for these awards and tbh I’ve only been here for a few....from what I can see though (and this can be said of any other games as well)..there is usually a drama, either before during or after a game..even ML..members are sometimes infracted or even banned through it and arguments and fall outs occur afterwards...the Razzies really isn’t any different..it doesn’t need to be what some people perceive as a ‘negative’ award for there to be ‘fall out’..I think most members would agree with that...and if anything, from what I have seen, it helps to diffuse any bad feelings, which are inevitable anyway and turn them more light-hearted....I don’t know atm whether I’ll opt out or opt in tbh...I’m ok with them and can’t really see a reason to opt out..but then I did opt out of ML, so maybe if you opt out of one, then you should opt out of the other..?...anyway, that’s for me to decide as everyone else will if they go ahead....which I hope they will if Matt will do it because they’re as much a part of TiBB as any other game/awards....and it kind of shows that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, which is a good thing about this forum and the people on it....

For those who wish not to take part, it's quite easy:

1) Opt-out
2) Don't step into of the Razzie threads

That way you're playing no part in them, have no idea what's going on in them and so as such don't need to worry about them. If you don't like them, then distance yourself from them and leave everyone else who does like them free to do as they wish. Nobody's forcing you to take part, and so I don't see why you should force, or indeed encourage for that matter, others to join you.
