i always feel like this in feb im bored and slightly depressed. come about april im fine my main hobby is whippet racing and what is called the *open season* starts sort of the end of march begining of april meaning every weekend nearly im away somewhere to race the dogs cud be anywhere even scotland and i love it. but this only happens till about oct then the racing is just local which is fine but with the way the weather has been lately its been cancelled a fair bit. my partner has decided he wants to get into greyhound racing and has bought 2 greyhounds which race now and a pup which wont race till next year, so hes @ the track quite a lot im not into this other than when outr dogs race and i want to go and watch. im just really really bored and abit fed up i suppose. i want to do something but i cant find anything. have been looking for writing course but cant find anything in newcastle or north tyneside. i started doing a bootcamp class on a thurs 6pm till 7pm but never went tonight coz im ill. not really sure why i feel the need to post this on here but thought someone might have a suggestion for something for me to do to stop this friggen boredom id also like to meet some new people.

Do you suffer from SAD (seasonally affected disorder) mizzy? might be an idea to get a lightbox and take some extra vit D, that might help? Chin up sweetie kx

..well, you could start one yourself with a few friends..maybe do a leaflet and put it in a local shop..?..or the library is a good place to ask because they sometimes run them there...

..I think for me anyway, that when you're feeling generally physically low, it's not a good time to access things...you tend to feel low in your spirits as well..but when your body starts to recover then things can look a lot different..and it's also a better time for decisions and how to go about doing things....your sleep is being disturbed by nighmares as well so you must be tired, which doesn't help...perhaps you should think about going to the GP and getting some medication to help your recovery first..then you can look at your options..?...

I'm depressed at the moment as all the Psycho-Pass videos aren't working properly.

Hopefully you'll feel better soon Mizzy.

..yeah, I understand about the medication mizzy..I don't really like taking stuff either and especially if you're already having a repeat prescription because somethings don't blend together very well and can make you feel worse as well....February is a funny month anyway because you're on 'a low' after Christmas and it feels like a long cold time until spring but when you're not feeling too good that makes it even worse....there are also more natural remedies from the health shops, but if you'd rather not take anything at all then that's understandable as well....

..maybe just tackle one thing at a time..bit by bit sort of thing...concentrate on getting yourself physically well then you could go to your local library and talk to them about what is available to you..apart form running book clubs etc..they are also a good place for other clubs and groups to advertise, so I'm sure they'll be able to put you on the right track for what's available in your area...

...you take care of yourself mizzy and hopefully that horrible virus you've got will start to clear up soon.....

And I agree with you Ammi that Mizzy might feel better if she starts up her own activities once she physically feels better.

..yeah movie nights are another good idea Vanessa..it's whatever you think you'd be interested in really..the important thing about it is the social part..books/movies etc are things you can talk about and then you can find other interests with people as well....

My sis does too, she is ok at crimbo and then after the new year festivities are over she just slumps :(
Have some lovely brisk walks with your pooches and eat lots of veggies and nuts to boost your serotonin levels.
Check out courses at your local college, as said the library is a great place to see whats going on in your area, really hope you get something sorted mizzy.

I agree. I need to be healthier as well. I'm far too lazy and that's why i'm often tired and grumpy.

I think keeping busy is a great way not to get bored. Going for a walk, or to the cinema can do wonders. And eating healthier as well.

I use diet and exercise to keep depression away, and it's worked well over the last few years.

I tend not to get bored at all though, as I usually have more things to get done than time allows for in a day.

I hate this time of the year too. From January until about May it actually sucks. I've spent most of the money I have, it's miserable, there isn't much to do, Uni stress kills and I spent pretty much my whole days on on the internet or PS3. I just count down the days until it's summer tbh. But it can always be worse, I suppose. Keep that in mind :p

Feeling a bit lonely when you walk in this miserable weather? I bet there are one or two others who do, it can get a bit boring and i'm guessing whippets need a lot of exercise haha.
Start a dogwalking club, I seem to meet the same people on walks, and its great to have a natter as the dogs play :)
Bet the virus is making you feel pretty rubbish, maybe take a multivitamin with iron to keep you topped up. Are you sleeping
ok? Fingers crossed for the course enquiry mizzy, write a couple of short stories and send them to mag? you never know you could earn a few quid?... :D

That's great! you could use this 6 weeks to start a little collection of work to take along?
Write a couple of poems, a synopsis for a longer story and maybe a couple of short ones?
That should keep you out of mischief :)
