..this is sort of linked to Munchkins' thread about plastic surgery...do you have any scars from accidents/surgery etc.. tell us about them if you want to..don’t if you don’t...that’s the way we roll around here...it’s all your very own choice..

..I have too many scars...some of them from childhood nonsense and others from major surgeries..some big, some small etc...but I’m fortunate because none are majorly visible....and they kind of tell my life anyway, so I don’t mind....

..are you ‘scarred’..are there any funny/weird/peculiar/silly stories attached to them that you don’t mind sharing...?...

..(oh, broken bones are eligible as well)....

My belly button is made up of a scar because when I was born my guts were like outside of my body.

And I have a scar on my forehead from when I was a kid. Apparently I fell off my rocking horse.

..you sound as though you were a bit of a tomboy like me...I jumped off a garage when I was little..well, I was sort of pushed but the result was the same....it hurt..although I did bounce a bit, so it could have been worse...

Oh I also have one at the base of my thumb on my left hand, I was working in a Bar in London when I was 19 and I was opening a bottle of wine and the neck of the bottle snapped as I was holding it. I damaged nerves that time, I've pins and needles in half of that thumb since

I have scars over my legs from operations from playing footsie with a horse. I have a scar on my right thigh where my brother threw me on to some glass in a park when we were kids. I have a tiny scar under my left nostril from when I was given the beating of all beatings in a place, ironically called "upper slaughter" when I was younger.

One on my back from when I had a mole removed, and one on the first finger on my left hand from when my brother kicked a ball through my finger and it was bent completely backwards, and smashed.

I have a few scars, and I've had lots of broken bones from skiing, motorbike riding and generally twatting about like a maniac. However, my most interesting scar is a jaggy one down my right index finger where I was injured by a tank. Basically, I was in the Imperial War Museum, had a close look at a Matilda tank, stuck my finger in a bullet hole in the side and as I pulled it out, it got stuck on a jaggy bit and opened up my whole finger. Claret everywhere. It still counts as a tank injury though...

..I love that story but I would have told everyone that the tank ran over my finger for extra sympathy...

Bit like that with my one, I was being stupid and running through a pitch black trench which had a ledge hanging down I then whacked my head on, can still claim it as a trench wound though

I got a scar on my left eyelid from when I got run over, one on my thumb from when I cut it open on a tin, another from cutting my head open on a sharp rock and a scar on my arm where I once got stabbed.

I have lots of little scars from a tomboy childhood mainly on my legs. I have one on my hand where my brother sellotaped my arm to the radiator and turned the heating on full (he made me tell my mum I had burnt it on the oven - cue a bollocking for using the cooker after strict instructions NOT to). I have a scar on my cheek that you can only see when I get some sun on my face from a tree fall and annoying ones on my arms and hands from iron / cooking related clumsiness.

I have broken all my fingers and one thumb too but no major bone breaks...

uuuuuuugh livia that made me shudder. (not the first time i've said that to you :idc:)

I have one on my knee from falling over during some cross-country thing our games teachers always used to make us do before football/rugby. The dumbasses thought running in football boots down a cobbly path was an intelligent idea :idc:

Another small one on my knee and elbow from when I fell (drunk) and knocked my front tooth out.

And I have a birthmark the shape of Australia on the left side of my belly (you didn't ask for birthmarks but you're getting them).
