This might sound so ignorant LOL but how do you find all these decent singers/bands that aren't mainstream? like i'd love to branch out my musical tastes but i never know where to find new singers:conf:
Oh god that probably sounded so dumb

Haim just were crowned BBC sound of 2013 so they aren't exactly obscure.

And it's easy to find music that isn't mainstream

Love this song, have done for a while. But I much prefer Forever.

Last.FM could work I suppose?

Just type in your favourite artists and lots of similar ones will come up.

LOL don't worry I used to be the same

I read a load of music websites - NME, Pitchfork, Last.FM, Popjustice, the Guardian... I don't really know which to recommend to you because I think it's best you look around and find which ones suit your tastes better, but basically reading reviews about other bands/soloists and seeing whether they'd be anything you like is a good start.
