..it's hard to pick one and I like different actors for different reasons, depending on the movie as well...Denzel Washington and Kevin Spacey are two of my favourite 'serious' actors and Will Ferrell is probably the funniest actor..I'm seeing more things with Paul Rudd in and I'm liking him more and more..I think he would be a good serious actor as well...

...I like them because they're 'believable' I think...

Deniro is my all time hero.....Ive probably seen him in over 50 movies, no one worked harder, studied more, gave more commitment, no one played so many weird subversive maverick roles, to me he is the ultimate barometer of integrity, honesty, authenticity and sincerity. I just wish hollywood still made movies like the golden era, maybe one day we could see another deer hunter, awakenings, taxi driver, Godfather 2, raging bull, once upon a time in america, midnight run, heat, casino, ronin etc

Other favourites include, Jack Lemmon, Hanks, newman, Cagney, Bogey, John Wayne, Penelope ann miller, Nicholson, Pacino, tony Hopkins,Vivien leigh, harold lloyd, Brando, Stewart, Bette davis, walter matthau, Henry Fonda, harrison ford, chris walken, pfeiffer, Christian Bale, peter falk, Harvey Keitel, Decaprio, Pacino, charles bronson,Laurel and hardy, richard burton, kathryn hepburn etc etc I love all these people, theyre all just terrific

I "met" DeNiro when he was filming in NYC. Two friends and I were at a pub in Philadelphia one Thursday evening having some dinner and then decided to trek up north to have some fun in Manhattan. Nearly 11pm, we parked in Tribeca, turned a corner and were greeted with cameras and groups of people working on the block at night. It was insane. Studio seats with Ethan Hawke's and Anne Bancroft's names on them, people giving orders to other people, and a few civilians having a peek-in. And then there he was, Robert DeNiro in costume for Great Expectations(one of his fans told us), sauntering around the area in front of us, gearing up for his next scene. Very awkward sequence took place where we all dared each other to go up to talk with him, a bunch of boy-men looking upon one of their movie idols.
He apparently caught on, or overheard us talking about Goodfellas and Mean Streets and sort of gazed over from 10 yards away. He looked awful in the makeup they put on him, but then he did something magnificent. He turned directly toward us and contorted his face like he did in GoodFellas, as he's smoking a ciggie in a bar with his one eye half shut, contemplating, as if he was again making the decision to take out Morrie. It was a kind gesture toward male fans who don't know what in hell to do in these cases. lol. We left after they shot a few scenes and went deeper into the city for some drinks. Good times.

Agreed. His voice and the way he delivers his lines without pause... it's difficult not to adore his roles.

"So let's build a wonderful school in Little Boston. These children are the future that we strive for and so they should have the very best of things. Now something else, and please don't be insulted if I speak about this .. bread. Let's talk about bread. Now to my mind, its an abomination to consider that any man, woman or child in this magnificent country of ours should have to look upon a loaf of bread as a luxury."

.. strangely Heathers is one of those movies I never got round to watching, it's on my list of 'must see' though and I will try to look out for it when it's on TV sometime...but yeah it is very vintage now I guess and not something you would expect the teens now to be into..some movies stand the test of time I think and others don't..I watched Footloose a while ago and thought it was rubbish lol...but I'm sure a lot of people still like it..

..there was a movie that Winona Rider was in where she played the daughter of Cher..I can't remember the name of it atm, but she was very good in it..I've always liked her but I get the impression she's kind of troubled in real life and doesn't seem to do so much in movies these days...shame, she is a good actress..

yea, too bad they arn't as multi-dimentianal as your great actors who basically just do italian mafia thugs, cause that's so hard to play, right?

why do people think playing mafia takes so much talent? any 6 y/o with a fedora can do it. i've got a gun and a grimace, whoa i'm a mafioso. Playing mafia doesn't take talent.

typical ignorance....zzzzzzzz
the greats Ive listed have played....mental inmates, comedians, musicians, sheriffs, factory workers, the devil, bank robbers, preachers, politicians, stroke victims, producers, bank robbers, writers, shakespeare, taxi drivers, gangsters, vietnam veterans, police officers/detectives,doctors, boxers, cowboys, scientists, scizophrenics etc etc etc it takes great talent to play such diverse roles so convincingly.

the legend himself....he played shakespeare perfectly....a boxer, a florist, a sex fiend, a lover, a factory worker, musical, comedy, a theif, a fugitive, a wild biker, a cowboy, a cop, a disabled war veteran and of course the Godfather (lost alex thinks playing the mobster role is easy , utter rubbish) playing the Godfather takes a genius, a multi faceted man who portrayed power, respect, love, humour, honesty, integrity and of course a dark side to intimidate all those enemies who disrespect him. he was an absolute genius, totally charismatic, profoundly intelligent, funny , intuitive, black humoured and he had a gift to see through everyone

She's talented, has brilliant style, and she's funny. I'm aware that she's not the most comfortable in the spotlight, on the likes of chat shows and that, but she still does her job professionally. Also I think she chooses interesting film roles.
