I actually think people are more likely to kill than rape... With the fight or flight reaction and adrenaline in extreme circumstances I think you could kill someone. Rape is a different matter IMO.

I think we ALL have a dark side , but thankfully most of us are in control of our feelings , I myself could not murder anyone in cold blood as for rape as a female that does not enter my mind.If I had to kill in self defence or to protect a loved one then yes I am probably capable of that as I would see red.

Which is why I said if they wanted to. That isn't universal and was hardly going to apply to the vast majority of people. Just the ones sick enough to want to do that.

The average person could not kill another in cold blood, I think a person can easily be pushed to do so in defense of themselves or someone else or if they're driven by grief or despair but it'd take someone who isn't quite right to kill someone in cold blood for no reason.

Rape is a different kettle of fish entirely, it takes a sick mind to willingly inflict that on another individual.

I think i could kill someone - because that only takes a matter of seconds, and can be done without even thinking.
But rape? no, that has too much time to think about what your doing, so your intending to rape someone because theres enough time to go, 'oh wait this is wrong'.
