iPad question

I'm buying one soon and just want to know in advance, can I download music directly on my iPad (legitimately) or do I have to sync to my computer?

Sorry if this sounds stupid I have no experience with Apple except for iTunes on PC (which I rarely use)

You can get the iTunes store on the iPad so yeah you can legitimately buy music on there, but if you want to put torrented or downloaded stuff onto it then you'd need a computer.

You could just sync by wifi, I always do it as my iPod basically stays on my docking station

You need to first connect your device to your computer in order for wifi syncing to work, don't you?

I want an iPad soo bad. I use my iPod touch all the time and an iPad is basically just a gigantic ipod touch. I'm not sure if i want the regular ipad or the mini though. Right now i'm leaning towards the mini.
