the number one political party of 2013 is ukip 01.02.13
well done Nick,
i so welcome the Farage,
i feel so refreshed and hopeful,
just like after a good massage.
you are my Tony Blair,
my night in shinning armor,
and just like the conservatives booted labor,
humiliating Camron is just calmer.
i like your policy's,
they are not just front,
at last someone will tackle,
the great "immigration stunt".
if you stick to this,
in the bag is a result,
labor ruined this country and the conservatives are no better,
that's why "Nick" will go down like a malt.
on forums i will post,
i am going to do my best to make you hip,
i hate Labor and Conservatives,
i urge the reader for real change to vote Ukip.
( i have sent my poem to nick - labour and the con party and i am sure in thinking one 1 reply will be of interest. i am so let down by labor and the conseratives and i am pleased to see i have found faith in Ukip. the question is - how does everyone on this forum feel about voting ? and are you going to even bother ?)

UKIP is getting the Tory protest vote. That's all. If you asked most people who voted UKIP what their policies are they probably could rattle off one, maybe two... but that's it. Farage is a horrible, dispicable person. I know that's rich considering he's a politician, but put up against other politicians, he makes the majority of them look moderate and honest.

If there was an election next month I would vote Labour, simply because I abhor the demonisation and rotten treatment of the most vulnerable in the UK by this coalition Govt also for the NHS too, I would not trust the NHS to either the Conservatives or Lib Dems at present.
UKIP do seem to have connected, likely mainly on the Europe issue, however I am not really bothered as to a referendum on staying in the EU, I would want to stay in anyway and also I am not keen on most of UKIPs policies so could not ever likely vote for them.
Eastleigh was a good result for UKIP and I expect they may do well in the Council elections too, that will be the test now, if they start eating into Councils then maybe they are on the way to being a much stronger force.
The party I still think that will be the Govt, minority or in a coalition with the Lib Dems after the 2015 election is Labour in my view.
I now know very few people around me who have much good to say as to this Coalition and are just waiting for the chance to try to vote them out in a General election.
They will start to be taken more seriously yeah. I also think it's a bit flippant to just reduce their support down to a protest vote, wouldn't be surprised to see Ukip continue to gain prominence on the political scene over the next couple of years

I cannot see Ed Miliband being ousted before the next election and I also doubt David Cameron will be either.
Had the Lib Dems lost Eastleigh, I thought Clegg may have had a battle to stay on his hands.
However it is not, from reading back over political history, necessarily the most popular leader that wins General elections, Margaret Thatcher for instance, was apparantly really disliked by the country overall but was able to defeat the far more popular James Callaghan.
As to the in/out referendum on Europe from David Cameron, I find very few people even believe he would honour that and in a discussion with students last week, in fact most don't understand why he doesn't get re-negotiating now and hold the referendum at the same time as the 2015 election.
The fact he has left so many possibles as to what he may seek to re-negotiate and his procrastination in asking for an overall majority and then a likely referendum in around 4/5 years time only fuels further suspicion and lack of trust in what he says.
A lady of 80 who I was talking to a few weeks ago stated, how can he be believed, he guaranteed 'no full reform of the NHS' but broke his word, why should he be believed on this referendum either,he always backtracks and changes his mind.
I do agree that 2 years is a long time and things can change in a few weeks that is true, I just really cannot see what policies can be done now to soften the blows of the really intrusive and damaging policies from the cuts that are still to come over this year and 2014 too.
I really still believe the NHS and particularly this already detested,as more is learned as to it, 'bedroom tax' will and should be the final nails in this Coalitions coffin.
I personally don't see in any way his current stance on the EU,by expecting the voters to give him an overall majority before he will even start to re-negotiate a better deal for the UK from Europe ,then to hold a referendum doing anything at all to save him and this Govt now or over the next 2 years.

Why can't we have a serious conservative leaning party like UKIP pushing hard on the heels of the Tories, might make them think a bit more about their current performance . Hopefully UKIP might become a serious alternative to the Conservative Party.

I'm reacting to the large number of Tory voters who are taking the trouble to get in touch with the party and resign over issues - mainly gay marriage - and say they will give their vote to UKIP. I don't see how saying what I see is being flippant, I'm deadly serious. The protest vote split the Tory vote which is why the Conservatives came third in Eastleigh and the LibDems vote was unaffected. I know several Tory councillors who are also planning to change their allegiance to UKIP as a protest against out-of-touch policies being inflicted on the party nationally despite the feedback being sent back to the centre about how the core of Tory voters (mostly the more right wing voters) are rebelling and turning to UKIP.

Far from the gay marriage issue the downgrade from AAA will have shown a few voters that even with the austerity measures the conservatives have not delivered on their promise.
Many are aware that if it were not for the libdems there would be further carnage of the NHS and other public services.

the problems with the NHS are not purely the amount of money thrown at it...the problems are structural mainly and cultural too. the structure is wrong, the waste is atrocious, too many self serving useless semi corrupt middle managers as weve known for years. there is also a bad attitude amongst some nurses, whether its to do with the whole structure collapsing I dont know. but some nurses are awesome , some are a disgrace. any nurse who allows patients in their wards to die of thirst should be sacked immediately and tried in court.
