Would you read someone elses diary? if it was sitting there infront of you and no one else was around would you read it (it could be anyones diary)

..no never..in fact this came up at work last week because one of the children picked up another child's diary and started to open it..I explained why you should never do that...I think it's one of the worst things you can do to someone...

I actually agree that its a horrible thing to do to someone, but I have to admit, if I was faced with it, with no chance of being caught, I'd probably have a peek. In fact, make that definitely.

No, most people I know lead uninteresting lives, I wouldn't waste time reading about them.

My mum read a page of my sister's diary once.. it went something like this: "last night my boyfriend and I smoked two joints, watched a film then I gave him a bj" there was fireworks in our house that night. Diaries are dangerous things imo.

No. My older brother read mine and told my mum I had a boyfriend and she waited for me outside school and introduced herself to him.

I wanted to die.

If it was likely to be a juicy, interesting read.

If it was a load of waffle about how they decided to have a pasta salad for lunch instead of a cheese sandwich then they can do one.

No, tbh i don't think i could bring myself to it, i've had a diary before, and it would mortify me if someone had read it

It depends on the circumstances. We all read Anne Franks Diary in school. I think it would be amazing to find an old diary from my grandpa or even my parents. If it was a friend? then no, if it was a boyfriend? maybe.

I read my brother's diary when we were kids. and i found out later that he read mine too. We laugh about it now.

No, it breaks the boundaries of privacy. I would go ape **** if somebody read my poetry books without my permission so I wouldn't dare do it to someone else.

Nope. I would never read somebody else's private thoughts, be it in a diary, or go through their phone, it read their private messages online. Like on Facebook. Despicable.

What do you write that would be so horrible for other people to read though? Are you saying things in your diary that are drastically different from the things to say to people's faces? Or is it just the idea of it that bothers you?

It's personal thoughts/ideas that are private unless you want to share them. Nobody shares everything with everyone.

Good old Anne Frank. I see no one minds reading hers, and she couldn't even be arsed to finish it.

Depends on the person really, but as a general rule probably not.
