This Friday is the birthday night out of a girl I work with and she's invited me but we have had previous problems, she spoke badly about me and basically it got back to me and I confronted her and we argued called each other a few names.

Would you go out to celebrate with her or not?

Marcus.

Depends if you feel you're able to mend fences in the relationship or not.

Yep, may as well try and be friends, could be the invitation is her way of an apology.

Try for a fresh start with her.

..she's invited you so she's obviously ok..if you want to go, I would go and start afresh sort of thing...it's not good to hang onto stuff...you'll probably have a really good time as well...

..you would have felt bad if she hadn't asked you, but she did...it's kind of your move now...she's made hers...

..have a great time...

Argument or no argument, it'd be rude to turn down a free bar, may as well go along :joker: if she starts getting mouthy you can just sling a glass of your free drink that her boyfriend has paid for over her in true soap style

Free drinks and a previous falling out, sounds like another fight waiting to happen :suspect:

Why are people bringing up drinks, you can still party without alcohol you know

The things she said were really nasty though, not getting into it but it was stuff that's hard to forgive.

Free drinks don't matter to me, I am just wondering if I would look a bitch not showing up.

No you wouldn't seem like a bitch but you would seem like you don't yet forgive her. Which is probably accurate.

..as you work with her SH..do you think that there would be an atmosphere or it would be difficult/awkward at work if you didn't go..?...

It sounds like you already know that she's not someone that you will ever be friendly with. (she sounds like a b**ch) so i wouldnt bother.

I would make a quick appearance, a 10 minutes meet and great, just so no one can say you didn't come, and then get out of there as quickly as possible.

That's what I'd do.

Yep, doesn't sound like a lot at all. Especially with the price of drinks these days. Even a J20 is usually over £2

I say just go anyway. Then she can't bitch that you didn't turn up.

You don't have to stay long. Make plans with your other friends so you don't have to stay.

Or the obvious, get off with her boyfriend in front of her and if she has a problem with it just wrap a chair around her head.
