Spelling Niamh is no problem, but pronouncing is the hard part. In my head I always pronounce Niamh for some reason, Nigh-am-e, but it is pronounced completely different.

It's not hard, mh is prounced like a V lol People go on like that's the strangest rule ever but you have them in English too : Tough GH is pronounced like an F for example, except if it's Though GH just becomes silent, that's even more confusing, atleast in Irish MH is always pronounced as a V :idc:

I've often had my name spelt wrong,cant say it bothers me much,Niamh is easy to get a couple letters the wrong way round,it's not meant intentionaly,I've done it sometimes.

I don't agree the M and H can easily be mistyped,I have to think about I sometimes,if your in a rush it's easily done.

It must be annoying for girls who don't live in Ireland with that name. Teachers always saying it wrong, people always asking why it's spelt that like but sounds different.

Yeah, when i worked in in that Bar in London years ago, we had those tills where your name came up on the screen facing out to the customers so it was a regular thing to explain how it was pronounced..................everyday.............. .700 times :laugh:
