Lucky to be you?
Do you ever think how lucky you are to be born into the country you have been or born into another, culture/religion

image being born in a country thats at war or a third world country where you would struggle to meet your basic daily needs like food and water

born into a culture or religion that ment you hand next to no rights.

what are you thinking?

I really believe I am lucky in all areas of life.

The country I was born in,I was born into a RC family but religion doesn't play much of a part in my life and it is good I am able to say that without fear of being ostracised or face any persecution.

I am very lucky to have the family I have and also the opportunities I have,I do though know many struggle and even here in the UK many don't have the opportunities I have open for me and I hope I will do all I can to reach out to them and help others get such opportunities. I consider myself a very fortunate individual indeed.

I'm white and a male so obviously I'm kinda absolved of two social barriers right away... occasionally I'll encounter a spot of prejudice or hate on account of my sexuality, and the fight for equality in that respect is still yet to see fruition in most of the world.

But overall I'd say I'm incredibly lucky. I didn't have the most well-off upbringing and despite my accent and snobbery I'm really not even middle class, but I've been spoilt as a kid and have never really gone wanting for anything, let alone needing.

I often think this when I've had problems but everything is relative. I do realise how lucky we are in this country to have the opportunities we do without too much stigma...there is still room for improvement here but to be born in absolute poverty, war and oppression is an awful concept to try and comprehend.

I consider myself very lucky to be born in this country. My family survived Hitler's death camps and the idea of respecting and cherishing the freedom and rights I have was instilled in me at a young age.

I'm definitely very lucky because even though I was born in a third world country my parents were able to provide a really great life for me and my sisters. I often feel a bit guilty though. e.g my higher education costed monthly 3 times what our maid earns.

I don't pay this type of stuff too much thought, I don't think I could function well if I did.

However I am grateful to have been born without a religion, and to have been born into a life that I don't have to struggle. I've a cool mom, I've good health and I work at keeping it that way.

Other than that, I don't know, I tend not to look at the hardship that goes on in the world, it hurts and I feel powerless.

I understand what you are saying it is soul destroying when you try to imagine the lives of people less fortunate, it's very humbling.

I think we're lucky to have what we have. There are a lot of people who have nothing, so i thank god everyday. :)

I adopted this mentality the second I went to Nigeria tbh. Had to really slap myself for being such a wuss about life at times before that.
