Rihanna is taking a year off

Rihanna is reportedly planning on taking a sabbatical from the music industry, taking a year off before recording her eighth studio album.

The claim was made by Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show in the US - with the American Idol host claiming that RiRi wants to calm things down after her current Diamonds world tour.

Seacrest said: "She's been in this go mode for a while. Seven hit records in seven years.

"Sold-out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind."

Her world tour started in the US last night and will arrive in the UK in June.

but in all seriousness, I think this is probably best for her, shes been working non stop for years now so hopefully she'll take the time off to either start a family or decide on which direction she wants to take her career. and seen as people are getting tired of seeing her non-stop, even if she just takes 1 year off, its still more than shes ever done before.

I call BS. She probably won't release an album this November but I'm sure we'll get something in 2014. There's no problem with her releasing constant music, the public aren't going to get sick of her because they would have done ages ago.

If she really does take a break though, she better milk this current era and then release a greatest hits in 2014 before releasing a new album Winter 2015.

I know that quite well, I think the perfect example of someone who knows balance is eminem. He last released a song in 2011 and has been rarely pictured in public...Bowie is also a prime example, the music is there but they dont need to tour or any of the god awful embarrassing things some artists do.

People chastise Rihanna for being a workaholic when that's probably the only good thing about her. I doubt she'll take a year off. She's the kind of artist that needs to be everywhere to maximise potential and I don't think she wants to take a break either. She's like Beyoncé, constantly working.

I want her to create an album that has the perfect mix of MOST/AGLM and GGGB, shes the only big singer around that can pull off caribbean songs so she might as well make the most of it.

I also think her next album should be more upbeat like GGGB/Loud seen as ttt/Una are both quite urban and darkish.. and maybe a summer album for a change, even though summer albums don't sell as much as winter ones because of xmas..

My point is that there is a difference between her older stuff and her newer stuff. I loved the work on GGGB and Rated R.
