he will be missed.
"Are You Being Served? actor Frank Thornton
has died aged 92, it emerged today.
Thornton, who played Captain Peacock in
the BBC comedy and also starred as
Truly in Last of the Summer Wine,
died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday"

I loved watching these old series, sad to hear of his passing but he reached a great age of 92.
Really funny character in the series and he gave much pleasure to likely millions of viewers.

Yes the pompus Capt Peacock
in charge of the 1970's shop floor.
He was a great actor.

Ah, that's sad, R.I.P, but at least he had a long, amazing life! :)
That's not a bad age to reach and then die peacefully in his sleep. May he rest in peace. A great, possibly underrated actor.

One of the great British comedy actors Frank Thornton has passed away at the age of 92.
Best know for his role as Captain Peacock in Are you being served? and later as Truly in Last of the Summer wine.
