is it ever right to buy a dog online ? 20.03.13

jokes aside,
this trade is dark,
this is a cry for help,
my poem is louder then any bark.
i no everyone is busy,
but there rush way of life i do decline,
everyone has a little common sense,
you don't buy a dog "online".
riddled with disease,
kept in conditions that are squalid,
what is making this trade thrive,
the chance to make a pound note is horrid.
wake up everyone,
your PC is no way to buy a hound,
yes it all may be visible,
but it is equivalent to any nasty trade underground.
i have made my case,
to "Battersea dog home" i will email send,
now i need a bed for tonight,
so i am going online for some old dog to befriend.

( i have sent my poem to Battersea dogs home and i hope they can use my poem to put up and to warn people not to do this. i would even re-wright the last bit for them as they may not see this funny. i just wondered, would the reader on this forum ever buy a dog online ? and no funny jokes pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.)

it depends... are you buying the dog for a pet or for meat?

Puppy farming is a big problem, great topic joe :)
If you get a pup think the RSPCA suggest you visit pup and mum at their home first.

Got our puppy from someone online. We went to the house and met the mum and the brothers and sisters. It was a family home type thing, the little girl didn't want to let him go and kept asking to stroke him one last time LOL But yeah, ours came from a nice family and no dodgy dealers

I think it depends, there are probably, for some, good reasons to buy a Dog online rather than from a Dog home or shelter.

We got our first Dog from a breeder of Staffies and the one we have now is another from that breeder.
Once you buy a Dog as long as you have him/her checked at the Vet and ensure they have all the vaccinations necessary,I don't see the problem as to buying online or anywhere else.
If a Dog needs a home or a new home, then that would be fine by me to buy online. You could still insist on seeing it's former background anyway before doing so.
