Comedian Jim Davidson last night said his life had been ruined by his arrests over sex attack allegations.

He told fans at his stand-up gig that police had gone “mental” because they had failed to catch paedophile Jimmy Savile.

Former Big Break star Davidson, 59, said: “These last six months have been the worst of my life. My life has been ruined.

"I just have to keep telling the truth. I have been rearrested.

"You turn up thinking the first two allegations are gonna be dropped and another load of s*** drops on you from 1978.

"I don’t know what I was doing in 1978.”

He also told the audience at his show in Telford, Shropshire: “Do you think police have gone mental?

"I met Jimmy Savile, if he arrived you ********d off, and now the git drops dead and Operation Yewtree decide to prove a point.

"They say ‘we missed Jimmy Savile, now we’re gonna arrest every other ********* that walks the planet’.”

Davidson was first arrested two months ago over claims he molested two women.

The comic was rearrested on Wednesday as he answered bail at a West London police station. He has *“vigorously” denied the claims.

His lawyer, Henri Brandman, said the comic had not been charged with an offence, adding: “He answered police questions as fully as he is able.”

The probe was sparked by the Savile scandal but the allegations against Davidson are not linked to the paedophile.

Davidson has been bailed by officers until May.

Falkland Islands police have asked the Met Police to investigate an allegation of sexual abuse by comedian Jim Davidson dating back about 30 years.

A Falkland Islands police spokesman said they were awaiting the outcome of the Met investigation.

Mr Davidson's lawyer said he "vigorously denies" the claims.

A Falklands police spokesman said: "The Falkland Islands government have been made aware of allegations made against Jim Davidson.

"We have asked the Metropolitan Police to make inquiries relating to these allegations. We await the outcome of the investigation."

Mr Davidson's solicitor Henri Brandman said on Saturday: "Jim continues to vigorously deny the allegations that have been put to him and is helping the police as fully as possible in their inquiries.

"He has not been charged with any offence. Jim has not been interviewed in respect of any alleged incident with a woman suggested to have taken place in the Falkland Islands about 30 years ago.

"Unless and until he is interviewed on that subject, neither he nor I can make any comment in that respect."
