either my dad's wedding ring, i think that's the thing I'd be most upset about losing, or my CD collection.

I am not particularly religious myself but for me it would have to be my Grandmothers rosary beads which she had blessed from a Pope.
Simply because I know what they meant to her and also that for some reason she wanted me to have them after she died that would be my most treasured possession.

A simple thing but I would always try to make sure I held onto them over all else I had because they belonged to Grandma and she trusted me with them.

Almost isn't good enough Annie. Vicky is obviously a better mother than you are.

I know...I'm currently beating myself up about this, repeating the mantra "must do better, must do better"

My indoor rower. Been with me through two marriages and breaks down less than I do. ;) It's there and available even if I don't wish it to be. Memories are life-long, if you're lucky, but I prefer to sear them into my mind at that present moment, rather than look at old photos and heirlooms. I do both though.

How old are you SA? Tell me to mind my own business if you like, but I thought you were youngish, so 2 marriages?

Maybe my collection of fantasy novels. But I'm not sure I would save them if the house was on fire, however if there was a flood and the water was rising slowly, I think I would take the time to put them in the attic.

My books and my car. I have lots of stuff that belonged to people I've loved and I like having them... but they're just things. I don't need them to remember.
