View Full Version : So, who watched it?

And your thoughts?
It was a decent enough opener I thought but I don't know, there's still something missing from this show. I enjoy it but there's not the same pull factor that X Factor (and on a less similar note Britain's Got Talent) have, it's just a show that's...there. I'll watch it and stick with it but it's nothing amazing IMO. And I'm glad I watched Takeaway live, it was miles better.
I also really do wish they'd stop the indirect digs at X Factor, like 'four of the biggest names in music...who don't judge, they coach'. I mean as a show it really needs to get over itself.

Still a boring format, still boring judges. Only caught the last few minutes (Kavanagh and the will.i.am. doppelganger) but still just so dull. :/

I was fully expecting to see Jessie's new haircut when I tuned it, but then I remembered that this bit is from weeks ago.
And I prefer this type of show to Takeaway, so I won't watch that again since it clashes with this.
Also having all the same judges (or coaches ) is a big plus, it does feel like they get on and have a laugh with each other.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does but I doubt it. The Voice was trending all night and I didn't see Takeaway trend once which is unusual. Plus people seem to like these kind of shows and it's the opener of a new series.
I think I'm the only one to generally go by the rule that if a show is live I'll watch it over one which isn't :p

I watched it. There's talent, but it doesn't pull me in. X Factor is so much better. I'll stick with it, but it doesn't excite me like the US version did. It doesn't have the Xtina Factor.
I also really do wish they'd stop the indirect digs at X Factor, like 'four of the biggest names in music...who don't judge, they coach'. I mean as a show it really needs to get over itself.
The press slanging matches may be getting boring but I think lines like that are justified given that they have to explain what's different about The Voice. And that's not really a dig at just The X Factor, that's a dig at every single modern talent show that's preceded it.
As for tonight's episode, I thoroughly enjoyed it. :D

I don't get the "they don't judge, they coach" because they do both, as does the X factor.
They're not that different, they judge auditions, each have teams that battle each other with one act/judge winning. So I agree, it needs to get over itself.
I like that they take finding someone with talent more seriously than X Factor but Ant n Dec hit the nail on the head, it needs a sense of humour.

Don't know if I can be arsed with this series as last one was actually a chore, they turned something I loved (the USA one) into such a borefest :(

I watched it, really enjoyed it.
One of the things I would have liked to see was that the 4 judges couldn't see who was turning round,in fact not even know if anyone had.
I will stick with it and record to watch later Ant and Dec's programme.
I'm pleased The Voice is back defnitely.

Takeaway won the overall viewership, peak numbers were pretty similar though.

The US one really excites me for some reason, especially with the new coaches, Shakira is flawless.
It's a good show, but comes across as very dull, I champion this show, when everybody slates it I'm all 'No watch The Voice, BGT is ****e' but I got bored last night, it felt so slow.
Next week sounds a lot better from the clips and I'll stick with it.

But yeah, in saying that, I really wouldn't mind if it got axed, because I'd just watch the US one.
Better than X Factor tho by far.

I've never been interested in these singing shows. The Voice is no more interesting than the others before it, imo.
Kelly Clarkson is the only artist that I actually like from any of these TV singing shows, and I think she would have been successful even without American Idol.

I thought it was good. The audition stage is far more enjoyable than x factor, I don't wanna see someone go do their weekly shop at lidl and get a spray tan before finally auditioning.

It's the BBC! They just can't make entertainment programmes, bar SCD.
