View Full Version : UK to USA travel visas
I've never been to the US before, but intend to go shortly for a week, on holiday.
What do I need to do to get a travel visa? What sort of visa do I need?
Sorry I don't travel very often

You need to get a visa waiver form... http://london.usembassy.gov/vwp3.html
Okay so I need an authorisation to say I've been allowed to enter the US under the Visa Waiver Programme?

Yes.. just click the "ESTA" thing on the right hand side of the screen and it'll take you through it. They'll reply by email and you can just print it off and keep it in your passport. And then they probably won't even look at it.

They are strict
you may have to go to London USA Embassy
to get it.
I waited 2 hours once.
Hopefully what Livia has suggested will suffice :p
My mate said he was just giving a form by cabin crew to fill out whilst on the flight.

Jesus can't you just walk me over the Atlantic? Bit selfish of you not to offer :idc:

The walking on water thing was pre-crucuifixion. Bit more difficult with holes in your feet.

You only need that waiver thing! But if you somehow, got to US customs withut it, they will do a quick criminal background ckeck, Then cleared! And they will make you apply for the same waver, plus application fees! :) My friend went through it! LOL
So check their embassy sites, get the paperwork, its pretty straight forward though, UK citizens, are almost the same as Canadians
