Such a shame, but in a way, it's kind of the perfect way to get across whatever message he was trying to say... :( R.I.P.

Will it make 1 iota of difference?... sadly no.

It may make/inspire someone else do it
but with Hi Tech warm clothes on.

You can get clothes with heaters in them

I don't think that is the message here, and it's not the only lesson to be learnt from this death.
Won't have as much impact as it won't have the tory 3 ring circus of a media to bolster the message however...

He made a Video
a few days back or so.

I still say he should have bought Hi Tech heated clothing from Maplin
as he is not used to living rough

He was trying to impress Channel 4 bosses
to show his film.

Thats not the point though is it arista?... If you are documenting life as a homeless person you are living as they would not sitting there in a battery powered duvet..

Yes but he was to meet others
and as he was not a Rough Sleeper
that HiTech clothing could have saved him
if he died of the Extreme Cold.

No Back Up was crazy

I know what you are saying

He could have aclimatised himself, is that what you are saying?
That would have made sense I guess but at 27 maybe he thought his body would withstand it? it is tragic :(

Agree completely. Tragic death, but it gives people awareness how dangerous living outside on the streets are.

RIP to the lad who died doing something for a good cause.

Freezing to death is actually surprisingly easy. cause when yur body temperature lowers and you start to go numb you don't really realize what's happening. You feel like yur tired, and just drift off to sleep not realizing how much danger you are in. It's actually a very peaceful way to die.

At least it wasn't a painful death. RIP.

That's awful. :(

It's odd because in a way it actually communicates his intended message, i.e. how dangerous sleeping 'rough' is.

RIP.

It shows how dangerous central heating is, turn your thermostats down to 19 nobody needs to be any warmer than that.

Forgive me if I don't get all gushy like a lot of posts on this thread, but really have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous as this reporter setting out to experience sleeping on the streets and ends up dying of hypothermia ....

It's just plain stupid to play Russian roulette with your life by acting in such a reckless manner. I feel sympathy for his family but honestly compared to other victims of crime and victims of acts of nature this guy should have acted more responsibly....!!!!

I don't think his intention was to die, wow. When 'Cathy come home' was written and shown on TV the public were so saddened and affected it led to the charity 'shelter' being formed... no such sympathies here I see.

I know he didn't set out to die, but he must have followed some very poor advice as to how to tackle this issue, ill equipped and ill prepared he must have set off on his own ( no camera crew) with no real idea or understanding of the dangers of exposure in this current unseasonally cold weather.

It is tragic that he lost his life in this fashion.... I hope it sends out a message to the homeless community at large of the dangers of not keeping warm, and to the Govt and councils that more hostel space is needed to help vulnerable homeless people who are in this position night after night after night.
