Has anyone seen the trailer?

The premise of this series is pretty much how a town copes with being cut off from the rest of the world after being seperated by a clear dome. (Bit like simpsons the movie)

The story originates from a stephen king novel of the same name.

I cant wait and thinks the trailer looks very good.

Aired on CBS in the States' on Monday night to massive ratings, 13.5m.

Just watched the pilot and I really enjoyed it. Basically, the world is at a standstill when a mysterious invisible glass separates a town.

Exec. produced by Steven Speilberg.

Worth a watch. UK right picked up by Channel 5. Premiere date TBA.

The acting sometimes is a bit to be desired but it's Great.

Don't bother reading the book for spoilers, it's branched off already. Other than being in a dome it's completely different. (I heard the book ending sucked anyway and they have no intention of following that.

Its a good book, again in true SK form with quite a disappointing final quarter. I've been meaning to watch this series online, however a friend of mine who is also a big SK fan almost gave up after a poor first episode, but after sticking with it is quite enjoying it.

Hmmm dome's arrival brilliantly done... But they really better stop with the duh duh duh duh chords every time anyone says anything significant and start painting the characters in 3dimensions. Has potential but shaky start.

Some of the dramas that have been coming out of the states lately have raised the bar and this one just feels very flimsy in comparison. Story seems excellent, but tge script is creaky - far too much early exposition to try and crowbar in character and too full of cliches.

Getting better. Characters are starting to take shape a little. Still wish they'd knock it off with tension music. Trust the audience to see the horror of it without ramming it down our throats.

Does it get less creaky after episode one? I liked the story and some of the characters were starting to get intriguing, but the writing in that first ep was painful... as was some of the direction.

Like, for instance, when the cop was standing at the edge of the dome, looking out at all the activity on the other side, she was clearly freaked out by the silence. But instead ofletting us hear some of that silence, the disconnect between what she was seeing and what she was hearing, they slammed a bunch of tension music over it.

And because they are coming into the story at a particular point, and the book has presumably taken time to build some characters and relationships by then, they try and verbalise every character relationship and backstory. Like whne the journalist comes into the hospital asking after Dr whateverhisnamewas and the nurse in response says 'your husband blah blah'. So unrealistic. Really jolted me out of the story.

People were talking like tv characters, rather than like actual people. I'm used to better than that these days!

Anyways...still liked the story, and am intrigued by some of the characters. And the dome itself was ****ing awesome when it arrived. I just hope the writing (and music) settles down a bit.

I've been watching this as it airs on CBS (currently up to episode 9) and love it. I re-watched the pilot when it was on Channel 5 to refresh my memory. It's so good. It also got decent ratings on Channel 5, over 2m which is excellent!

Just finished the first season.. i did enjoy it but i always got the feeling they were struggling for good story lines and some of them seemed quite rushed.. theres only so much you can do inside of a dome, it started to seem a bit dragged out.. hopefully theres more from season 2

Yeah, the acting is dire. But I can't help but watch.
I'm on episode 10 atm and it does get a bit more interesting.
Although, with only 3 episodes left, it seems strange to throw in a new plot twist now. :shocked:

I don't know wtf is going on at the moment with this show tbh, I still like some of the characters but the writing leaves a lot to be desired, Big Jim just kills a guest star that finds his secrets out every episode, Julia and Barbie have some boring romantic scenes with one another and wondering if she will ever find out(which btw they just have her act all normal about Barbie killing her Husband) and I feel that Junior needs to fit into the plot better than he is at the moment.
