Simon Cowell confirms Tulisa axe, teases new judge

Simon Cowell has reportedly confirmed that Tulisa Contostavlos has been axed from the X factor 2013, or at least refused to deny she’s gone.


It’s no real surprise, with claims that Tulisa wouldn’t be returning for a third series as early as last December.

All but officially announcing Tulisa’s axe from the show, Simon teased a new fourth judge for this year’s panel.

He told the Radio Times this week that the new judge would be a gamble, saying that they would appeal to the middle aged and younger audience members.

Also in the interview, Simon ruled himself out as a judge on this year’s show.

But he said he will be back in the future: “There is something about this show which is closest to my hearts, so at some point I will definitely come back on it”

Well I think Sharon appeals to both middle aged viewers and she's very popular amongst younger generations...I was very pleasantly surprised by the reaction on Twitter to her return at Judges Houses last year, with overwhelmingly positive comments about how they wished she'd return full time. I thought I was just one of a few that was a fan but evidently not.

I don't actually think he'll pick Sharon btw and never have done (though I wish he would), but that quote could easily be applied to her IMO.
