Yes, I have a job (for 14 more days, lol). I work as a travel and adventure pioneer and marketer. And yes, I enjoy my job most days. Always going to get a day when you question it but the stuff I get to do is fantastic, I just went Canyoning the other day which included abseiling, jumping over waterfalls into plunge pools and sliding down rock walls into plunge pools. I'll be sad to leave this job but it has opened so many new doors for me, especially with travelling and writing.

So why were you fired, not turning up on time, not working when you got there.. cleaning in a hotel is going to be hard!
it was really busy and I was alone at fries and the floor was a mess, all covered in oil. I had no time to clean it though because you have to take your apron off / bring the mop from the backroom / place the wetfloor sign which would have meant customers' time being wasted. Bear in mind this was during Ramadan & I was fasting and that made me even more exhausted. The owner (my store is part of a chain of five other stores and he's the one who runs it all) just happened to visit (he was this really big, REALLY intimidating Iranian guy) and saw what was going on, then asked me how long I've been working there so I said 4 weeks (which is 8 days as I only did weekends) and he seemed really angry and next thing I know one of my managers calls me to the office, tells me to sign a sheet and hand in my uniform. o had to do it along with the super
I'm so glad I'm not working there, it was AWFUL. One week there was an upcoming inspection so they deconstructed all the cabinets and stuff in the kitchen and made me clean all the wheels with a brush and a bucket of soapy water. It had to be immaculate, I even spent up to fifteen goddamn minutes on some wheels. And even then it apparently wasn't good enough. Then they made me clean the insides of the metal cabinet which bruised and cut my hands a bit and this kind of excess cleaning was apparently going on the next day too so I called in sick lmao. I was like the only crew member who had to do it along with the supervisors and managers, which was really unfair. It was genuinely like slavery and all for £4.25 an hour.. did I mention that the supervisors treat you like ****. The only good thing about the job were the other crew members who were amazing, although one or two were quite bitchy and rude

Looking back over this, whatever happened to Marcus? Hes just disappeared or did I miss something? On my work thing, well Im still working for the agency with the same 4 customers only one of them today made me have to bite my tongue, she used to have me on a mon and fri but there wasn't much to do on a mon so we went to 2 hours on a fri (now up to 3) so anyways I go last week and pretty much ironed the whole time I was there and cleaned up the kitchen (shes very very messy, drops stuff on the floor and leaves it) anyway I go today and she says shes having a blitz and she couldn't believe how dirty it was!!!!!!!!! I bit my tongue I really want to pack in doing her but until I get more of my own customers its a case of needs must.
salman you are deifitnly better off out of there.

If it makes you feel any better, 99% of employers don't even have the courtesy to get back to you at all if they deem you not good enough. You tend to only get contacted for interviews.
I have applied for hundreds of jobs this year (want something more steady) and I have only ever had 2 replies back that said basically..thanks but piss off.
I work in a restaurant's head office taking delivery orders at the weekend. It switches between boring and stressful, there is no happy medium, but all things considered it's a pretty good job to have as a student - it fits in nicely with uni and because it's just evenings at the weekend (sometimes do extra shifts during the week but that's not very often) it means I can still go out and enjoy my weekend after work!
