Farewell tour and greatest hits album still to come this year but that will be the end. It has taken three months to make the decision #JLS
Not surprised, they'd have probably lasted longer if OD hadn't taken all their fans

Ah well, never mind. A bit **** anyway. A couple of decent songs but apart from that, they were rather generic.

No way :o wow, this I am shocked about
Then again Marvin did get his own show on Capital a few weeks back...I found that a bit odd at the time

Love how they've done it when 95% of their fanbase won't be awake :joker:
Don't think any of them have enough to go solo

there was a big rumour a boy band would be splitting a couple/few months back and most people thought it was TT or McFly
Joelle.

Surprised but not bothered. Had potential to start with but turned into a conveyor belt of generic crap after generic crap.... apart from She Makes Me Wanna, that song is...

Shame, they had some great catchy hits

Shame because compared to 1D they're actually tolerable.

Eyes Wide Shut > One Shot > She Makes Me Wanna > Everybody In Love > the rest
And I remember that rumour now! Five years is a really good run to be fair, I think I remember Tom on here saying they'd last five years so that was a good call :suspect:
Also, I'm calling the performance on this year's X Factor Final now.

Remain the best X Factor act after the show tbh. Bit of a shame.
At least they did it in a dignified way unlike Girls Aloud who shamelessly toured, chirped the term "ten years" (seriously I will seek Cheryl ****ing Tweedy out and punch her in the mouth if she says ten years ever again) and then tweeted they were splitting up as an afterthought. Total cop out. At least JLS have announced it ahead of their arena tour and have given their fans time to come to terms with it, this'll probably boost their ticket sales. They had a good run, a few good songs and they managed five #1 singles, that's a pretty good achievement. They're exiting at the right time. They always seemed level headed and four genuinely good guys, I think this is sad but to be respected.

In the good old days bands would have an acrimonious bust up and that would be that. Now it's farewell tours, an album, and give it 3 to 5 years before there is a Reunion tour.
I like JLS, was surprised that Marvin started DJ'ing on Capital (thought it might be a guest slot, obviously not). They seem nice, never got too up themselves and they all seemed to get on, and they had catchy tunes.

wasn't it always pretty obvious that 'Ten' was their goodbye album?

I actually like JLS, so wish the lads well in their individual projects:).
As long as this split doesn't happen with their branded condoms!

the greatest thing they ever achieved was linda's joke about them tbh
Linda:
-is wondering wut the **** shu is on about-
Dean:
jls condoms
Linda:
mmk
are they coloured
Shaun:
jls? yes.... bit awkward...
Dean:
linda you can't say that
wasn't it always pretty obvious that 'Ten' was their goodbye album?
They consistently said they weren't splitting up and that "this is a celebration" etc, toured the country and then whispered it online instead of telling their fans straight. I think if they'd announced it as a farewell tour their ticket sales would have been immense and people would have respected them.
Marcus.

its a sham there are spilting up
5 years is a fairly average pop shelf life to be entirely fair to them, it's usually pretty rare for an act to achieve more than that. 4-6 years is usually the expectation for any established pop act.

Fair play, didn't hate them as much as One Erection.
5 Years though? Damn. 2008 doesn't seem that long ago!
Encouraging underage sex, how role modelish of them
Underage sex happens anyway, they're encouraging people to use condoms - nothing wrong with it.
I wonder will their condom rage stop now though? :suspect:

This is sad for their fans but like them they have grown up. Sad they never had much success in the USA. They were a great boyband.
