Is that even possible?

Josy

Well reading through the menus yes it is possible but I would be bored of it before the first day was over if i'm honest.

..where were the menus Josy..?..I didn't see them...

there's no way you'd get a scone over here for 5p, that's for sure

I don't think I'd manage this at all.. but I'd be interested to see some of the dinners they had as I sometimes struggle to think of economical, healthy dinners

Ammi

..don't worry I saw them..I hadn't scrolled down and just gave up too easily at scone...what would be healthy in a scone..?...

..I guess you could do it if you were buying for a family and say two weeks or so at a time because you can't buy things by portions like that..but that would mean eating lots of the same things every day...I'm not sure if that lack of variety would be healthy either...

..mind you I can talk because I've got a rubbish diet and hardly eat anything different...

Niamh.

You wouldn't be able to have any meat either

Nah

Ammi
29-04-2013, 12:23 PM
..oh, I was just about to say that it would be different for males/females because males do eat more and that depends on their size as well and up pops Nathan lol...

I'm probably the person who needs to consume the most amount of food on the entire planet

Ammi
29-04-2013, 12:27 PM
..well, you might need £2 then..you'll only live half as long as everyone else, so you won't have to worry about being hungry...

I think they are working it out weekly tbh like they will by a pack of scones for say 50p and work out how much 1 costs, at least I think thats what they are doing.

Is this just one person? I think its possible to live on £1 foodwise, for one day, you'de have to shop around but I'm sure it could be done

Are they going to monitor them like they do on "Secret eaters"? there's gonna be A LOT of cheating otherwise.

There's no way i could live on $1.55 a day. Just 1 can of soup costs more than $1.55 and you can't live on just 1 can of soup a day.

I probably could. Just buy 2/3 boxes of cereals and weetabix.

My cat would rip out my throat if he had to though!

What? Since when do supermarkets change the prices late at night? I've never heard of that. My supermarket doesn't do that.

It's not on everything. They will have a basket of like sandwiches and pasties. Basically stuff that was meant to be eaten that day and they can't put on the shelves tomorrow.

They will do to get rid of Sell by date Food
better to sell it , than bin it.

New stock takes its place

That $1.55 could buy a full bag of veg to make a pot of home made soup which would do you for 3/4 meals though.

But that would require a lot more of my time, and my time has value too... :nono:
