Really curious about why there's a large number of gingers in that part of Russia, where even is that? Moscow's further south west, isn't it?

The ginger gene is actually really strong. I'm a carrier without the unfortunate side affects.

The steppe region was well known for red hair, and as tribes were probably breeding a little closer in those days, so the ginger gene was probably kept ticking over.
