I can't sleep unless I have a light breeze drifting across my face. I cannot stand still air.

Silence and darkness although sometimes Ill nap in front of the TV.

..I like the TV on but only on really low volume and it has to be something quite easy to watch..nothing like a horror movie when the music suddenly goes loud because that wakes me up with a start if I've just drifted off to sleep...and I have a window open always, otherwise I feel claustrophobic...

I'm not worried about noise, but complete darkness is essential. No standby lights from clocks/tv's or anything. I also like to be cool/cold.

pitch black, windows closed, no noise. can't really sleep otherwise.

oh and sleep is always best if the sheets & duvet cover are new (not like brand new bought sheets, but have just been washed etc.)

..yeah, on hot summer nights I use a fan..but that's only about 3 nights a year here though, Alex...

I usually put a roosterteeth podcast or something to listen to while i fall asleep and as long as my pillow is cold im not arsed about light or dark.
Im a proper pillow tosser i keep flipping it over to the cold side until i fall asleep.

I'll tell you guys my secret to going to bed, i put star trek voyager on, i have all seven seasons downloaded on my computer, and i use them as fairy tales, cause that's what they are, I know them all by heart now, so it's like hearing a story before i go to bed, it's so comforting, i love it. It's comforting hearing the same episodes you've already watched many times before. You don't even have to lok at the screen, you can see it in your head. I put 8 episodes on to play, and basically when they finnish it's time for me to wake up, i'm already asleep, but actually when they finnish, the silence actually wakes me up.

It's perfect. Star trek really is the best thing to go to sleep to. They are like having someone reading you fairy tales at night.

Awesome! most star Trek fans slag off Voyager! i love it though. Voyager is my favorite. So many strong maternal female characters. I love strong women.

Most Star Trek fans take it waay to seriously! The main reason I like voyager, is beause, it doesnt seem all that serious, even given their predicament.

yup, they're just getting on with it. which is basically how i feel most days. That's what makes them great, is because they've basically reisgned themselves to the fact that they arn't going to live long enuf to get home, but they still keep hope alive and they just get on with their jobs, and make the best of a bad situation. I wish more people were like the Voyager crew.

Especially Neelix, i know most ST fans HATE Neelix, but i love him. I think you need someone like that on your crew. He's a jolly fellow, and of course he can be annoying, but he's still a really sweet guy with the best of intentions. I love Neelix.

Usually complete silence and darkness, as others have mentioned. I leave the window open if it's hot and stuffy, though (I quite like the feeling of wrapping up to get warm after being initially chilly), but shut it again as the noise of the birds wakes me up. :bored:

Yeah I normally have the window open when I first go to bed then end up having to shut it about 8/9 in the morning when it starts getting noisy outside, people should show a bit more respect for us late sleepers

I agree about the rain, it is very soothing.

And the same about noise, I much prefer silence. And would only keep the window open during the hot days of the summer.

I need to have my Tv playing, I need my window open or a fan blowing on me. I cannot stand being warm in bed. It also needs to be pitch black.
