It seems a lot of these "do-gooders" are actually doing more harm than good.
It's funny how a lot of people (including on this forum) want to paint themselves as SAINTS and that they are such great people for going to these countries and building something, when in fact they are just perpetuating a lot of stereotypes and fueling a corrupt industry.
I found it all very fascinating.
The BBC really does a lot of great investigative journalism.

Alex, you know literally nothing about the member in question and you're just trying to get a reaction. You said the other day you were in your thirties. Try ****ing acting like it.

Hes just being bitter because I called him ignorant. This is still true. I don't see myself as a saint, if I did I probably wouldn't refer to you as a uneducated deluded dickwad with more ego than personality.
I volunteered to teach in Africa for 6 weeks. I enjoyed it so much I decided to stay a further 8 months. I was asked to upload pictures of the scenery you read into it and assumed its good for nothing but my CV which is bollocks since I got the only job I've ever wanted secured half a year ago the other side of England to me starting as soon as I get back home..
Your relentlessness a pettiness is frustrating and tiresome. Your child-like behaviour is nothing out of the ordinary and your article is irrelevant.

wow, so i mentioned an article that i read recently, and now i'm being attacked by not just you, but also your flying monkeys. shame on you.
You've already got me an infraction, how much more do you want? why don't you call OFCOM and complain about the BBC ?
Such a self-involved, self-congratulatory troll you are.
I don't think it counts as charity if you brag about it. just saying...
I'm not the immature one around here. I'm not the one that goes running to mommy mods when someone mentions a simple NEWS article.

I'm not "fueling a corrupt industry" I'm not with an organisation, I'm living with a friend seeing where every penny I spend goes. Its not my gap year either I've already finished university.
Its pretty refreshing to know though, that if a young adult tried volunteering abroad instead of trying to achieve the highest possible wage during a year out of education that there would be ***** like you ready to knock them down. Try thinking about the kind of person that would make them and the kind of person that makes you before saying much more on the subject you obviously know very little about.

I actually like both of you guys, so maybe I can offer a bit of perspective. BB3232 hasn't ever bragged about it, and has always been pretty humble about it when I've chatted with him.
Mods won't only infract someone if something is reported. If it breaks rules and they see it, they will deal with it themselves. Pretty sure bb3232 will get a warning/infraction too.

And i never broke the rules, i posted an article about the dangers of volunteering, and the coruption that goes along with it, next thing i know i've got an infraction. I never named ANYONE, i never attacked ANYONE, but all of a sudden i've gotten an infraction and this idiot harassing me in MY thread.
What exactly is HIS problem with the BBC article that i posted? and why did i deserve an infraction for posting it??

please, tell me of all the other members who're doing something like this in the third world then? you're so transparent.
not to mention you posted the exact same thing in his photos thread...

The TOPIC was brought up by the thread, I wasn't directing it at a PERSON though.
You can't bring up a TOPIC, and then expect no one to talk about that TOPIC.
he made a thread about about that TOPIC. The thread was about a TOPIC (white people volunteering in 3rd world countries). That means that people will respond to the TOPIC. That doesn't mean you are attacking someone individually. It means you are talking about the TOPIC of the thread.
